Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

I was playing around with the ap and low and behold.... my ADRs that I asked IPO to make last week were on there. That is cool.

But.. I don't know why I would want to link my resort reservation. I guess at some point I'll have to.

And..... I added my DH as my family so I'll see what happens when he responds to the email and such only cuz I thought it would be fun.

But seriously...... what is the point of linking everybody and have your family of 4 all be friends on this darn thing. Do 'they' really think that nobody verbally communicates to each other any more?? Do they really want parents to communicate with their children (even to ours ARE a 17 and 20) via the media outlet only?

What am I missing?? I honestly have this vision of us walking into the MK for our last WDW trip in a loooong time, seeing everyone walking with their eyeballs glued to their wireless devise tripping over each other :rotfl:

Have no idea really, but I think it may be so you can get Fastpass+ times the same as the people who are travelling with. Who knows

It's not a social app like Facebook or twitter. You connect your Family & Friends so that once FastPass+ rolls out, one person can schedule times for your entire travel party at once.

By having your family linked, one person will be able to make FP+ selections for the family, etc. if desired. Individuals with their own accounts would also be able to make individual selections (up to their limits). There is some interesting linking that the T&C mentions, like someone linked into your group can also make selections for your group as a whole - it will be interesting to see how it works out.

Things like making ADRs could be easier by having the linked accounts - push a button - ADR for 4, done, with everyone's name attached.

Well then that makes sense. If the kids are not on my 'friends' list, I of course can't make Fastpass arrangements for them.....

You can add your kids as Family without sending a friend request and you would still be able to schedule FastPass+ times for them. At least that's how I understand it based on the terms & conditions.

Depending on their age, if they have their own disneyworld.com account, you could send a friend request. Not sure at what age Disney allows kids to have their own disneyworld.com accounts.

Just wanted to confirm with everyone that fastpass plus is not up and operational yet. Am I right in this thinking?

You are right.

I'm not sure where your error is.

Using the website, I orginally created a managed profile for my wife. After she created her own account, I then used the "Invite" button to link her account to the profile I created. Now I can add her to new things, and she can see everything from her own account.

I don't know either. All I know is every time I try, it says "an unexpected error has occurred." I can't try with the website because it doesn't work on my computer yet, I still get the old website.

Has anyone been able to download the app to an Android Tablet? I have it on my Droid phone (agree the newest updates looks no different), but when trying to get it on my Nexus 7 tablet, it says not compatible with this device.

I have not been able to download to android tablet either, says device not compatible. Hopefully that will change soon.

still can't pull up any resort reservations on my Iphone app.

No problem for me. I linked two DVC reservations to my disneyworld.com account and I see those and an upcoming dining reservation using the app on my iPhone and iPad.

Where do you see them?

I think Androids still aren't capable of it, but at least I'll know where to look :rotfl2:

On the iPhone you need to touch 'more', 'My Reservations', then either 'Rooms & Packages' or 'Dining Reservations'.

My dining reservations show under 'My Plans' in the app, but I don't expect to see room reservations there. Under 'My Plans', I would only expect to see things that are specific to only that day to be there like dining reservations. I suspect that once FastPass+ is live, those times would also show under 'My Plans'.

That would be interesting to see the resort in daily plans.

I am having no issues with my iPhone app, but still can't access website as I am Canadian.

I have my iPhone app all set for our March trip and everything is working fabulously!

Is it possible that those with reservations more than six months away are the ones who cannot see their reservations on the iPhone/iPad apps? I'm still having trouble even though I can see my reservation on the website and my trip is in September. If I try to add the reservation to the app, it tells me it's already linked to my account, but when I click ok, it still does not show up.
