I guess I am showing my age here...June Lockhart, of the Lassie TV show and many others, has passed away at age 100! I have to admit, I thought she had long ago, passed. She was also the mom in the TV show Lost In Space. R.I.P, June!

When I heard the news yesterday, I thought I'd heard she had died just a few days earlier.

I adored Timmy and Lassie, often bawling my eyes out watching that show growing up. Even just the theme song got me going, lol. I believe it’s in large part where my love of dogs started, besides having my own dogs. I had herding dogs like Lassie, so it was something I could relate to pretty well as a youngster like Timmy.

Lost in Space was also a show I watched regularly (hey, we only had about four or five channels to choose from - everyone watched the same thing! ) but Mr Smith’s shenanigans always drove me crazy. (DH just reminded me that even the weight on the space ship was off because he stowed away!) The actor Mark Goddard who played Major Don West on the show was from my neck of the woods and recently died in 2023, also, at age 87.

I just remembered something about the old Lassie show. As kids, when the show ended and the credits would roll, Lassie would be sitting and she (actually Lassie was always a male collie) would raise her paw to shake. We kids would fight over who was going to shake her hand!
