Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

The info about us Canadians having full access to the website is incorrect.

I try everyday on multiple computer, at different times of the day, in different locations, and it will not work. I can sign into the old website, and all of my resort and dining reservations are there, but the MDE does not work.

I can get the MDE iPhone app to work on my phone, but the MDE website does not work at all.

You can check as we have a thread about this on our Canadian board. There have been times where a few of us got the new website to come up for a few seconds, but then it disappears.

Even Disney has admitted that they are still working on getting it up and running for Canadians, so the info on the 1st page of this thread is misleading, as it really isn't fully functional, if functional at all for Canadians.

On my Ipad i was able to get the here and now to say I needed to be in park and have GPS turned on to use.

On my iPad, I get all my updates on who I sent invitations to join my group and who accepted my requests. That is listed as an unknown on the first page? Just curious.

Ok, I've changed the Canadian update back to no access.

Um, I haven't used the iPad app much, but I guess I'm not sure which unknown you're referring to here. Is it something different than on iPhone? Do I need a separate section for iPhone vs. iPad?

I am not sure...

Here is what you have on page 1: "Notifications: It's not clear what sort of notifications will appear here."

On my iPad app, the notifications section is filed with updates from all my friends and friends of friends who have linked up. I have notifications from people wanting me to join them, I have verification of those that have accepted my notifications. And I have pending notifications because I can't get my mom or my wife hooked up yet.

I would think that would be the same for all iOS devices. Curious.

Ok, now I see it. I do have those notifications in the iPhone app, as well. I just hadn't looked there since I set up the invitations. I'll fix that on the first page.

Ok, I've changed the Canadian update back to no access.

I appreciate that. I think this is important until we get a much more consistent and cohesive Canadian experience with the website, as it's definitely not there yet, and according to Disney, they don't know when it will be.

Interesting article on Jim Hill Media this morning about a delay in the roll-out of MyMagic+ due to technical difficulties. Walt Disney World pushes back the initial roll-out / in-park test of MagicBands to late February / early March

Here's a portion...
"Pushed back?," you ask. "For how long? And for what reason?" To be blunt, the My Disney Experience program isn't quite ready for prime time. Not yet, anyway. Some tiny glitches have been discovered in the software that WDW Guests are supposed to be using to schedule in advance their trips on attractions like Test Track or character interaction experiences like meeting with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at the UK Pavilion. So the software writers & computer engineers that the Company hired to write the code that drives MyMagic+ are now holed up in their offices at the Team Disney Building, trying to get a handle on that balky calendar function.

Another interesting claim here is that the originally-planned roll-out at the Boardwalk may change in favor of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The training issues go along with information I've been reading around here and elsewhere.

I'm not sure I follow the logic as to why they'd switch to AKL though. What does the remoteness of the resort have to do with it? Unless they don't want other guests getting as jealous :)

I'll try that although I have the issue on the website too.

Maybe this will simplify it.

I have account 1 and account 2 with the Disney sites. Account 1 is my DVC login and what I generally use when making dining reservations. Account 2 is linked to an older email and I have occasionally used it to make dining reservations.

I linked our DVC resort reservation number to account 2. However account 1 is the account that shows my dVC member affiliation and has all my dining already linked do id prefer to use that one. When I try to link that DVC reservation number to account 1, it says it is already linked to the proper people (it shows the details of the reservation and people on the reservation).

I changed the email on account 2 to match account 1 thinking that might merge them. I still can't add the reservation number to account 1 and now the old email from account 2 doesn't work to log in (says email is not in system).

I have the same exact problem. I have account one which was my disney website account and account two which is my DVC log in. I was told to log into the DVC site using my account one-Disney main site log in. Then it asked me for my membership and activation number. I got those from MS but it says there is an error. Then I tried to log into Disney site with DVC account, that worked and it shows my affliation but it won't link up any of my reservations. It pulls up the reservation, i hit done and nothing happens. So now i have two log ins to the new disney site. uggg, MS told me they were having problems to try again later. Still nothing works. Both have the same email also. Very frustrating :worried:

My Disney Experience android app (1.1.0) keeps crashing on my VZW Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean 4.2.1 when you attempt to log in or attempt to get detailed information such as reserve dining and such. Seemed to work "ok" under JB 4.1

I wonder if it has anything to do with the readiness of the International Gateway entrance that the Epcot area resort guests would use. The article talks about guest relations specialisits standing by at park entrances (the "GRAPEs"). Maybe they won't have to man Epcot's back entrance this way - at least not initially.

Android version updated to 1.1.1. Appears to be working "better" with jelly bean 4.2.1. Still can't link anything to your reservation and there is no "MyPlans" tab; however, the map is much more detailed now (at least for me). Finally, it does not hold your login. If you exit the app you need to re-enter your password.

Yeah, it was just "additional fixes and performance improvements". Still on the outside...

Thanks. I've added an update to the first page.

1-30 Ipad app updated and now has a reservations button and I can actually see my resort res and dining res when I push it.

Android app updated.....but not really. No reservations window, same old same old.
