Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

2 ways this could be that i am aware of- could be more for sure- but here's my 2:

could be there's another version of "you" somewhere - the setup is full of multiple "yous" from different accounts or things you may have done at disney (in real life or on the web) in the past. Usually requires a call to IT to remedy.

Alternatively, did someone else in your party already link the reservation? If so they need to add you to it by "inviting" you via your accounts email address.

Thank you. It definitely isn't your second thought. I guess I'll have to suck it up and call Disney IT. Funny thing is, a couple of weeks ago I had no problem linking everything and I'm positive it was with one of the two user IDs.

So bummed! I tried to link our paper tickets (we bought 10 day non-exp ones in 2005) and got this error:

"Error: This ticket or pass cannot be converted online. You may complete the conversion process in person by bringing the ticket or pass to any Guest Services location at Walt Disney World Resort."

Since we arrive Dec 24th to spend Christmas Day in the Magic Kingdom, I'm assuming that Fastpass Plus won't be much good to us by then. URGH!!!!

2 thoughts-

first do they have barcodes? Probably not if that old but worth asking on the off chance. If they do have barcodes you can scan them with your smartphone and their app.

Assuming that doesn't exist for you then i think i read a couple spots where people called IT and they gave them 'dummy tickets' so they could make FP+ in advance and then get their tickets fixed when they got there. Search the forums and maybe you can find some specifics- sorry i can't remember many details. Worst case- just call and ask nicely and see what they can do for you.

this might help people who MIGHT have multiple versions of themselves:

thiswill email you a link with ALL the different accounts you might have associated to an email address:

https://register.go.com/global/disney/recoverMemberNames

it will allow you to DELETE accounts.
they should probably tell people to always do this BEFORE setting up anything at all in MDE.
But I'd be real weary of deleting anything while i have any sort of outstanding reservations.

(i looked myself and checked a second email address i use and looks like i have an old account there- I'm afraid to delete the account since we have plans coming up. When we get home I'll delete it though to be sure there's no confusion at all going forward)

I called this morning with a similar situation- tickets were a 10 day no expiration from 2009 with 3 days left. I had got the same message but while I was on the call they were able to get them added to MDE- I called the tech number listed on MDE.

this is fine but I know for fact if I delete my acct. I will lose all my Disney movie rewards points.

I'm loving MDE but need help. On the website in 'My reservations', my Disney resort and dining reservations are there but nothing under tickets and passes. In 'My Account' under magic bands and cards, I have a MagicBand order which I have customised. Am I supposed to link these MagicBands in tickets and Passes, or are they already linked?

I'm having a similar issue with my AP voucher. It's showing up under my reservations, but not under tickets/passes.

if you show MB then it is 'linked' to your 'profile' - there's nothing more to do.

But if you want to get FP+'s reserved then you need to also have admission paid for. If you have a package i think it's already squared away (CAN SOMEONE ELSE CONFIRM?). But if you dont have a package then you need to buy tickets and link them to your MDE account 'profile' so that they will also be linked to your MB.

there's a couple threads here that are like faq or 101 - probably would be a good place to get a better idea of what i'm saying. Those im sure explain it better.

Hey all-
Got a quick question about this MDE site...I've read through the past 25 or so pages of posts, haven't seen it addressed.

My wife and I are heading to Disney for the first time in our adult lives, and we were working on scheduling out everything on MDE. If she adds a park to our itinerary, it shows up under the "My Family" section of My Itinerary, but it doesn't show up on my MDE home page...all the dates are blank. If I click a date, it takes me back to the My Itinerary, which has our info.

Any way to make it show up on the MDE homepage? Am I making sense?

Thanks

How do I take over control of family on a seperate reservation number so I can make fastpass+ reservations when time
Need to do it for older grandparents

I've had a rather easy time navigating MDE and choosing my FP* UNTIL I used the "invite and share" feature. The purpose was to link my sisters account with mine so we could schedule our families FPs together. (She put me in charge of managing her stuff cuz she has no clue and I am a Disney expert in her eyes...lol).

Anyhow, my window for selecting opened a week earlier than hers because she's arriving a few days after us, so my choices were already selected before we did the share option. I had two laptops set up. One signed into my account, and the other signed into hers. The moment the request to share was "accepted", her account would not allow for any FP selections whatsoever. Thru my account, I could only make selections for her, not her kids. So we had 5 of us on one ride at same time, and her little boys on same ride two hours later, etc...What a mess.

So of course I had to call Disney for help. It took about an hour on the phone to get it all straight. The CM was extremely helpful and knowledgable. She went into both accounts to make adjustments and helped me add my nephews to my "family". As everything was loading, etc...we were chatting and she said the new system was confusing and constantly changing. On her days off, she spends her spare time trying to figure out all the new things that keep popping up. Yikes!!!

In the end, I spent over two hours trying to get all of our FPs arranged so that we were together (frustrating to say the least). There's a lot of weird and quirky things going on and I think at this point when you get into linking different accounts together, there needs to be a lot more direction and simplicity. The feature is supposed to make planning easier, but was the opposite in my case.

I'm registering my account for MDE and it has a pre-populated old address of mine. I have a different mailing address in the USA still, but just moved to Canada.

Does anyone know what MDE uses the address for? Is it for mailing magic bands/DME tags? Or do they ask where you want those mailed later on as the trip draws nearer?

I noticed with Disney lots of things are available to USA residents, that are unavailable to others so I'd be happy to use my USA address if it allows me additional benefits. However, if it's where things will be mailed to, it's more convenient for me to receive it at my Canadian address.

Any insights much appreciated!

cheers,
:)

Background....
I have a will call AP voucher and have had no problem linking it to MDE with the "will call" info. My sister is on my MDE and we intend on using an "old" ticket ( I have a few unused, no exp, from the 80's/90's) for her entry.

Question....
MDE wont allow me to make any ressies/FP's with/for her "without a ticket". Now what??:confused3 Any thoughts? :confused3

Thanks for this thread!! Such a great help!!:goodvibes

Hmm, I trying to change my name!! It won't let me at all. I had this account for years. I am just scared because this might causes problems in check in, tickets and charging. ugh
