Treasure Missing Lookout Cay Not An Issue Anymore

Hey y'all we said it twice - tried asking nicely and then tried humor. This thread is not the place to debate the nitty gritty of teacher pay and PTO. We'll be deleting posts from here on out if they aren't on topic. Putting the thread title back.

Nothing of this size or complexity works right out of the gate. I was on a cruiser where the toilets didn't work the first time we got her underway; we didn't stay out too long.

A few musings: with as large as LC is (per the map the vast majority is undeveloped), I wonder what the long term expansion of activities looks like. Granted, CC doesn't really have a lot to do outside of beach/sun/bikes, and they've not expanded there either. Also, COVID happened right in the beginning of development. IIRC, there was a lot more planned in the initial drop of the map (can't find it off hand). I wonder if/how much the pandemic and the organization and supply chain impacts derailed the development of the initial LC capability?

musings...
Castaway doesn’t have a lot to do…excuse me???

The snorkeling a key Disney feature and selling point is absolutely amazing. The have stingy rays, parasailing, a digging site for the kids, the Scuttles Cove is WAY better, an in the water playground for the kids.

One person's amazing is another person's meh. You do realize how very limited the aquatic life is while 'snorkeling' at CC yes? To people that have swam reefs checking out the colorful fish, submerged concrete statues just isn't that exciting. Mickey or not. To me they always look creepy, like underwater tombstones. Interestingly, snorkeling reports out of LC comment on how much aquatic life there is to see. Not to mention the shore excursions at LC that includes snorkeling off of reefs. Not meaning to start a snorkeling war here, just bringing in another perspective.

I keep coming back to, I am glad LC is not a cookie cutter of CC. Different strokes for different folks. I am glad you find the snorkeling at CC to be amazing. I like CC, but don't go there for the snorkeling. Neither of us is 'wrong.'

Agreed. I did the thread title change as a joke and got a kick out of it. Thanks for keeping this place in tip top shape 😊

You’re right neither of us is wrong. Can I get snorkeling with aquatic life on almost every cruise line and all inclusive resort? Yup. Can you explore the ocean to find hidden treasures of Mickey prince Eric and other sunken objects anywhere else? Nope.

Chuckles.., can you swim from one clearly marked buoy to another and find concrete tombstones on other cruises? Nope. lol. But you do have castaway cay if that’s what floats your boat and LC if it’s not. Win win

P.s. pretty soon the moderator will be begging us to talk about teachers lol

He talks a lot about overcrowding at the island dining areas. Not enough seating, to the point of some guests getting into arguments with other guests over sitting at empty tables, something I've never witnessed at Castaway. He says he thinks that's why the Magic is mostly scheduled to sail there, but that wouldn't solve the problem. We were booked on a March Fantasy cruise which is scheduled to sail there, so the larger ships will definitely be going there, too.
