Navigating between the parks

I've seen a few threads here with people asking how to get between various parks, with very helpful prompt replies about catching boats etc. Is there any "route planning" app or site to help people plan this?

For example, I would hope for our 2014 trip to go around the resorts and look at their Xmas decorations, or even just to look (my exMIL who is also coming things this is a great idea as well, and would love to come), so I'd like to be planning a reasonably efficient route. We are hoping to stay at AKL, so if we have any late ADRs we will have to get back as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for reading :surfweb:

I haven't run across a specific type of map such as the one you're seeking, but Kenny The Pirate has a good transportation map showing how one would get to a certain park from each resort.

Also, if you have a late park ADR rest assure that Disney will not leave their guests stranded. At the very end of the night there WILL be buses waiting to transport guests back their resorts, though those buses may or may not be (most likely the case) resort specific. A couple of years back I swear we were the last 5 people to exit MK and had an entire bus to ourselves for our trip back to AKL. Other times, we shared a bus back to our resort with people going to various other resorts.

I've seen a couple of sites/maps with general info, but don't know where they are specifically.

The general rule of thumb is that Disney buses pretty much go everywhere on property, but they tend to connect parks to resorts or parks to parks. Getting from resort to resort usually requires two buses.

There is an app called WDW Transportation Wizard. I think it was $1.99. You select where you are and where you want to go. It then gives you a few options of transportation modes and am estimated travel time!

@bdklein

Yes, sounds like the start of Jerry Springer, doesn't it? My ex-inlaws are lovely though, and we have holidayed together before (as ex-inlaws).

Sorry to disappoint :P
