We are considering doing the dolphin encounter or swim while on Naussau. My daughter is 4 yrs old and says she wants to do the swim, but I am not sure if she is old enough. She loves the water, but doesn't like her head going under. My main concern is the foot push, I am worried her head might go under and that would upset her.

Has anyone ever taken a 4 yr old on the swim, and if so how did it go?

Thanks,
Julie

Much of the time you are in the water over your head. You do have life jackets on, but you need to be able to tread water. You also need to swim out a little ways, where the dolphins jump over you, and then swim back again. It's hard to say about the push. A 4-year-old may be very light and really go fast through the water. She would need to swim back to the group by herself. It may be scary for her.

I took my daughter when she was 8 and she was the youngest in our group at the Dolphin Swim. She did fine, but held onto me part of the time in the water.
