Ok, I've lost my mind! When I started looking at rental car prices in Feb, my May 10 - 14 rental was considered 5 days. About the end of Feb, beginning of March it changed to a weekly price. I just checked prices again today and it is back to a 5 day rental. What is going on???? I will pick the car up at 10am and drop it off at 8pm, so it really should be a weekly rental.

On a side note, it wouldn't take the old DC# today, either.

Sorry, I just needed to vent. I'll follow the rules, it just get frustrating when they keep changing, though.

just tried the national site right now with the old contract code for DC and it gives the discount ...

perhaps, you need to clean out your internet cache files....and try the discount code again....this is the only thing that might give wrong "readings" from a site

I tried the 'old' DC discount code today as well and it worked fine for the period I am checking.. I did plug in your dates and times and it did not work for me then. It may be at that time there is no availability for that rate. Also, on the 5 day vs. 1 week thing.. I looked at that as well.. What is happening is this.. For 5 days in an intermediate it is 30.95 per day and 154.75 for the rental period. A week in the same car is 154.95. The system will always default to give you the lowest rate, which in this case is the 5 day rate. That is why as the rates change you will see the amount of 'days' changing. Sometimes a weekly rental charge is lower than 5 times the daily rate so it will default to the weekly rate then.. One last thing, I tried it with the default Emerald club id and it gave me a 10% discount. You may want to try that if the DC discount codes aren't working. Good luck.
