National Rate Dropped Again

About every other week I try different codes to try to enhance my rate for July 11-July 18. Well today I saved $40! My rates have been getting better as I get closer to my travel dates.

Please post the code you are using. I can't get a decent rate with July (National)
We were down (again) last weekend and paid $14.50 a day with EA. Been getting fantastic rates all year, but July is just brutal. I am paying almost $29. a day in July. I am wondering if it's because it is a long rental of 18 days.
Does anyone know if they charge more if the rental is over a certain amt. of days?

I pick up my ca July 30, and the rates continue to be $100-$150 more than my reservation (made in January)

I'm paying $464 for 14 days, for a full sized car.

I paid $189 for 11 days in 2001, so this price is difficult for me!

I keep hoping for something to change!

What codes, what base rate are you getting. I leave in a couple of weeks and my rate has not budged since I made it. I have carlson code w/enter. coupon for 10 days EA = $273. Using the WWEB code w/enter. coupon for 10 days EA = $284. Haven't decided if I'll try the carlson code or not.

Unfortunately, the website is down for maintenance! I keep hoping my dates will come down but they haven't budged since I booked them.

I'm going August 21 - August 27 for $184.10 total for Intermediate EA (7 days).

Then I also have Oct 30 - Nov 7 for $214.14 total for Intermediate EA. (8 days).

I'm using Carlson Code and Entertainment coupons $20 off. I can't get anything lower or even the same with different codes.

Hi, I got a "LITTLE "rate reduction on my National Rental last week. I have a Premium car for 14 and one half days-July 19-August 2. My current rate is $505.13 using Priceless code(6600330) and an Ent. Coupon (10008615).This is down from $521.83, using the same code and coupon.My WEEKLY rate is HIGH $241.99 and the extra half day is charged as ONE day at $40.33 A Premium car rate was actually CHEAPER than a Full sized car rate. So be sure to check both!! I will keep checking daily now that we are 3 weeks out! Hopefully I can save a few more dollars!! Joan

With the Priceless code from Mousesavers and WWEB code I orginally was quoted 248.01. Yesterday, when I put the same codes in I was quoted 175 + fees/taxes for 201. It is EA for 7 days and a few hours.

I always book it right away and then go and cancel my older, higher one.

Book the new reservation and after it is confirmed I cancel the previous reservation.

I will also be arriving at MCO on Aug 11. Here is my rate:

EA, intermediate
Carlson code: 5760339
Base Rate = 160/wk
coupon # 10008615 -$20
Base rate after coupon = 140.00
Total with taxes and fees = 184.00

I am hoping to do better, but will deal with this rate if I have to. The WWEB rate, plus the ent. coupon contract ID and the ent. coupon id will bring the rental to about the same price.

OK I just changed my September National rental to make it 4 days and 6 hrs which qualifies as a 5 day rental.

I just rebooked using the priceless code, WWEB & 2 car class upgrade coupon.

Original, carlson code, & 2 car class upgrade coupon from Intermediate to Full size, July 10-20 $296

Rebooked, priceless, WWEB, 2 car class upgrade coupon, July 10-20 $302.

It's $5 higher but my conscience feels alot better. I actually had booked another ressie with Alamo SUV $422, but I think I will go with National.

Now I just have to get double stroller, 2 kids, 1 carseat, 1 booster, 15 year old, 2 adults & our luggage in the car.

I'm gonna do a test run in our 300 if it fits in there I'm sure it will fit in the Impala (that's what fullsizes I've heard National has).

Since they added the side-by-side comparison screen, old and modified, I just keep the same one. I previously made a new and canceled the old, now much easier. On this last trip, just completed, before I decided on Hertz ( a great experience, BTW), I must have made changes 10 times on my original National res, same number, just changed the inputs.
