I have always just drove to the booth and gave them my EC card, copy of reservation and any coupons I have. Coupons always seem to get a roll of the eyes but I thought it was due to extra work, not that I was breaking a rule.
Nope, no change, but, if you use upgrade coupons your EC rental will bounce back to counter. The money off coupons are totally allowed at the booth.
Quick rent is an entirely different monkey. Anyone can do it and it is supposed to be quick and you avoid the counter. This is what the OP is doing.
