When I left off we headed back to OKW due to cold and rain! Later we had an ADR for Kona. We had a really nice dinner there and as I mentioned before, the chef at this restaurant was able to clear up what happened at 50's with DS's reaction. We were majorly impressed about his knowledge of the food. He wasn't even using a cheat sheet or anything. He just KNEW all of this and THEN he went to the back to do a check up on it all to make sure. We just felt comfortable with him. I will go ahead and tell you here that we had a breakfast ADR at Kona on our June trip. It was a totally different Chef and he was just as knowledgable and he made us really feel at ease. He made DS some Mickey shaped pancakes and brought out fresh fruit. He told us that there is a designated portion of the kitchen for cooking foods for people with allergies. I think it's safe to say that Kona is going on our must do list for quite some time.
Ok, back to THIS TR.....
See the lady behind us in the green shirt?? The Chef went over to their table right after ours. Their son had food allergies too. They were super nice people from Georgia and we talked for quite a while. We even compared our epi-pens.
The deserts are "usually" the hardest part of the meal for DS. This is where the cross contamination can easily come in with peanuts. He made DS a special desert of icecream w/chocolate syrup on the side and since he can't have M&M's (I could kick Mar's a**...I mean butt for not making an M&M for all kids!!), the chef put him some cotton candy instead. He was more than happy with that!
My wonderful desert!
After our dinner we decided to take the monorail to the TTC and catch the monorail over to Epcot which we rarely do since we drive. DS loved that!!
It was our last night and the rain was over. It was still cold but we just bundled up and took our time strolling around Epcot one last time. Below are some pics from our stroll. I didn't take too many because I was mostly just trying to take it all in. 1st we rode the big rides like Spaceship Earth, Soarin' and Test Track. You can do that sort of thing in FEBRUARY!!! Next we headed out to tour World Showcase again.
DS decorated a mask in Mexico. Here he is playing in Norway...
Figment....
Puuuuzzeee....Skunk smell...
Hats in Mexico...
Late that night (I believe there was magic hours) we headed back toward the front of the park. DS played around a little on the lighted walkways.....
I believe we took one last ride on Spaceship Earth and then headed out to the monorail. We had to wait a little while on it and it was super cold and super windy on that platform!!! Finally it came and we were off. Once back to our vehicle we drove back to OKW tired but with the satisfaction of a WONDERFUL trip. I mean, come on!!! How in the world can our future trips top this one???? The Saints WON THE SUPERBOWL, we got to see DREW BREES in the parade, and we got to spend time with some AWESOME FRIENDS FROM THE DIS!!!!! This trip, although cold and windy, was just TOP NOTCH. I still wish we would have crashed everyone elses plans a few more times. Regardless, we will remember this one forever.
And with that.....my version of this crazy trip is now complete.
