National Lampoon's Fun w/Dis Friends 2010!! ~ DAY 7-Final :( 6/27

I love your Sally Field moment!:rotfl2:

I wanted to see the characters from UP but the line was too long when ever we were there.

Thank you, Thank you very much! :goodvibes

We were only the 3rd group in line for UP! I think it had to be a rainy day so cold that icicles were hanging from your nose for the line to be that short. :thumbsup2

It's so nice of you to thank the little people. :lmao:

I guess your DH was the one taking these pictures?

We didn't do the Backlot Tour in Feb. I would have loved to have seen the Hannah Montana thing and the costume from Enchanted(love that movie).

So after this last trip you've come to the conclusion you would rather be freezing than be "hot and sweaty"?

Next we rode Toy Story Mania then headed over to MK for ANOTHER ride on Buzz. By the time we got there it was freezing PLUS it was raining. We gave this day our best shot....it lasted till about 1:30-2pm. Trust me, that was pushing it!

We then took a ride on the people mover and discussed the fact that we were too darn cold to stay there any longer even if it was our last day.

So after this last trip you've come to the conclusion you would rather be freezing than be "hot and sweaty"?

I was just going to say the same thing. I bet it was kind of funny writing about how cold you were when you just got back and it was so hot.

You didn't wish for warmer weather did you?:eek:

Welcome Home Cherie.

Since you don't want to pull DS out during school anymore, can you go during Christmas break? I know crowds would still be there, but at least the heat would not :goodvibes

I really wanted to see ONe Man's Dream this past trip and I totally forgot. Now I am kicking myself as it will be closed through November, so going to miss it again..oh well :sad2:

Great update:thumbsup2

Yes, DH was taking the pics and just shaking his head at me. I did make some other ladies laugh who were standing near by so it's all good.

Hmmm, I'd rather a happy medium somewhere between freezing and heat stroke!

:rotfl2: I thought about that when I was there....."did i wish for this in February?? because I take it back!!!"

February wouldn't have been so bad if the winds weren't 25-30mph constantly.

I too loved the Sally Fields acceptance speech !!What a contrast in weather !!!
:rotfl2: Thanks!
It really was!! I would like our next trip to be a "happy medium" in the weather department.

Thanks!!:goodvibes

I would love to go sometime around Thanksgiving. I would love to see the Christmas lights, etc. But we can't do it this year. We've already been twice!! And next year, DH's work schedule won't permit. He only had every other year off for the Holiday's. This is the year he is off. I wish I would have thought about that before planning the June trip. I would have held off for November. DS gets a whole week off from school for Thanksgiving.

Rain, rain go away. Weird that it was cold rain, in FLORIDA. You are becoming the masters of improvisation!!!:thumbsup2

Marching my way through all I've missed the last couple of weeks. WILD weather you guys had. Cold AND raining makes for sucky park touring! I'd take hot over cold any day!

I'm sad to say, OMD is going to be closed for my trip in Sept.; dang, I was looking forward to seeing it for the first time.

We have been having very unusually cold weather the past couple of winters here in the south. It's crazy!

I always thought I'd take hot over cold anyday too....until THIS trip that we just returned from. GEESH!!! And we are used to hot and humid because it's like that here in Louisiana. But add the cement in there with a ton of other bodies walking around and no breeze at all....NOT GOOD.

Morning Blue !!!!

Morning Rosie!!

Oh Blue! I hope that you'll find your way over to my newly started trip report. Link is in my sig. :)

When I left off we headed back to OKW due to cold and rain! Later we had an ADR for Kona. We had a really nice dinner there and as I mentioned before, the chef at this restaurant was able to clear up what happened at 50's with DS's reaction. We were majorly impressed about his knowledge of the food. He wasn't even using a cheat sheet or anything. He just KNEW all of this and THEN he went to the back to do a check up on it all to make sure. We just felt comfortable with him. I will go ahead and tell you here that we had a breakfast ADR at Kona on our June trip. It was a totally different Chef and he was just as knowledgable and he made us really feel at ease. He made DS some Mickey shaped pancakes and brought out fresh fruit. He told us that there is a designated portion of the kitchen for cooking foods for people with allergies. I think it's safe to say that Kona is going on our must do list for quite some time.

Ok, back to THIS TR.....

See the lady behind us in the green shirt?? The Chef went over to their table right after ours. Their son had food allergies too. They were super nice people from Georgia and we talked for quite a while. We even compared our epi-pens. :confused3 :rotfl2:

The deserts are "usually" the hardest part of the meal for DS. This is where the cross contamination can easily come in with peanuts. He made DS a special desert of icecream w/chocolate syrup on the side and since he can't have M&M's (I could kick Mar's a**...I mean butt for not making an M&M for all kids!!), the chef put him some cotton candy instead. He was more than happy with that!

My wonderful desert!

After our dinner we decided to take the monorail to the TTC and catch the monorail over to Epcot which we rarely do since we drive. DS loved that!!

It was our last night and the rain was over. It was still cold but we just bundled up and took our time strolling around Epcot one last time. Below are some pics from our stroll. I didn't take too many because I was mostly just trying to take it all in. 1st we rode the big rides like Spaceship Earth, Soarin' and Test Track. You can do that sort of thing in FEBRUARY!!! Next we headed out to tour World Showcase again.

DS decorated a mask in Mexico. Here he is playing in Norway...

Late that night (I believe there was magic hours) we headed back toward the front of the park. DS played around a little on the lighted walkways.....

I believe we took one last ride on Spaceship Earth and then headed out to the monorail. We had to wait a little while on it and it was super cold and super windy on that platform!!! Finally it came and we were off. Once back to our vehicle we drove back to OKW tired but with the satisfaction of a WONDERFUL trip. I mean, come on!!! How in the world can our future trips top this one???? The Saints WON THE SUPERBOWL, we got to see DREW BREES in the parade, and we got to spend time with some AWESOME FRIENDS FROM THE DIS!!!!! This trip, although cold and windy, was just TOP NOTCH. I still wish we would have crashed everyone elses plans a few more times. Regardless, we will remember this one forever. :wizard:

And with that.....my version of this crazy trip is now complete.

we were in epcot that night too! We had ADR's at Tutto Italia (major good food but don't know allergy wise though) that we almost cancelled because of the rain. It luckily stopped right before we left to go eat! BUt it was soo cold that night that we just ended headed back to the Beach Club for the night!

Yes, it was SUPER COLD that night!! We stayed as long as we could. Not till closing but we did make it into EMH.

What a great last night and good ending to your trip :thumbsup2

I see some concerts in your future (ticker). Have fun at them :dance3:

Even if you dont do a TR for the trip you just got back from, would love to see pictures :rolleyes1

Your last day looked like a good one, even with the cold and rain. I'm so impressed with how Disney handles special needs of their guests, and without impacting the experience of everyone else around. We will have to try Kona whenever we go back. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
