There is a cajun recipe web site I found. Here are 2 for an okra gumbo .....


This one you make your own Roux. But you can buy Roux in a jar. It's much easier for first timers to do it from a jar.

This one calls for tomatos. Where I'm from NOBODY puts tomatos in their gumbo!! Although this one doesn't say anything about celery, there are some parts of La where they put that in there too. Once again.....where I"m from NOBODY puts celery in their gumbo!!!

Basically you boil your Roux with water and seasonings. Put some veggies in there like white onions, green onions, even okra! And a meat or seafood of some sort. (chicken & sausage gumbo or shrimp & crab gumbo, etc.) Let it simmer and when the meats are done you serve it over rice "soup style".

Yes but it's not as cut & dry as we all think it is. I believe it may be some work. However, the sales lady we bought it from is trying to help us. As of now she put in an order for a new Yukon just like mine and she is supposed to be getting with the dealership owner to "move numbers around" so that they will just roll that new one over in our name with us keeping the same loan and monthly note. I hope she is not jerking us around. I'm trying hard to keep the faith. It has not been good the past 2 months as far as this is concerned.

YAY!!!!!!! We can finally start saying stuff like that!!

Remember the GREAT deal I got on that and a white Mickey T-shirt?? Well, I got an email and a refund on the t-shirt because they don't have any more. I hate when that happens. UPDATE THE WEB SITE!!!! Geesh.

that's the one i thought i bought but then when i went to check out they told me they were out of stock. i was so disappointed!

We both had to laugh when I started pulling out all of the mini bottles of laundry detergent. DH just shook his head when I showed him that I had just bought more of them on my "mini shopping trip". Once we put them together, this is what we have.....

That's right.....8 BOTTLES OF DETERGENT!!! But wait....each bottle is for 2 loads which means I now have enough for 16 LOADS!!! I don't know about you but there is NO WAY that I'm doing 16 loads on my vacaton.

you sound just like me except with things like glow sticks, rain ponchos and band aids. i buy WAY too many of all of the above and usually end up with a ridiculously excessive amount. ray just rolls his eyes at me when i pull them all out to take stock. i'm sure it would be the same with detergent if i did laundry on vacation, but since it's just the two of us i never have had to do that.

It is a horrible feeling not knowing if I will get stranded. So far that hasn't happened but they can't figure out what is wrong with it. It has a weird engine rattle and it feels like it struggles when switching some gears. According to their computers it all checks out okay but it obviously is not okay. It hasn't left me anywhere or anything but I think eventually what ever is going on is going to take it's toll on the engine. I don't want to deal with whatever happens later.

For the reservation.....not sure. WDW web site always has issues. I can try to look for you on the agent web site but I don't think it will let me pull it up since I didn't book it. If you had an agent book for you get them to try it. If not, you can PM me your conf # and i can try.

I hope the car deal works out too. I'm in a loaner right now until probably Thursday........AGAIN.

I think they are going to TRY to make sure this car will be okay on the trip. But I think there is a new car in the works. I just hope it all works out in the end and nobody changes their minds!

I'm cracking up at the detergent. I do have to admit that after you and Jordan were comparing notes on the travel aisle I browsed past one. It really does lift your spirits!!! I held back since we're still three months out, then I read on the GKTW website that they provide detergent, sunscreen, etc, etc and I was actually a tiny bit disappointed.

Did you book it through a TA? Sometimes they have to communicate for you - they might need to present proof of payment so your ressie will show up in the system?

I've just stopped by Cherie and Jordan's PTRs and I see they're leaving soon. Then I stop by here and see so are you. Am I correct in assuming there is going to be a large DISgathering??
