I just joined for free and tried to see what discount that would give me on my current van rental. There wasn't a discount so why did I go thru all that?

Also, when I checked my rental rates using Emerald Club it kept putting in an intermediate car instead of the mini van I wanted. I want the rates for the intermediate but need the van.

What's up with that?

Because all your information is stored, makes leaving the garage faster.
It defaults to intermediate, just select what you want.
If you need a van, you need to book one.
Are you signing in at the special sign area for EC members? You can set your preferences in that area.

I did sign in where it says to for Emerald Club members. I was hoping for more of a discount and there wasn't one. When it defaulted to intermediate and gave a great rate I was so excited till I saw it wasn't for a van.

Oh well, I'll keep trying.

I don't believe that Emerald Club is there for discounts as much as for convenience. You can still use other codes and coupons as an EC member. The best thing is you skip the counter head out to Emerald Aisle or Emerald Reserve (which is what you'll need for a van), pick out a car, and go.

make certain you have selected a mini-van as your vehicle & then select "Emerald Reserve."

Leaving it as Emerald Club will default to an Intermediate as that is what goes hand in hand.

I did all that to sign up and then checked after the fact on being able to use the Emerald Aisle and my airport doesn't have that. You have to use counter service.

Oh well, better luck next time.

Even if you have to use the counter services all your information is in the computer, it goes really fast. Also you get an upgrade more often with the Emerald Club. We enjoy it.
