National EC -50.00?? Help

When I try to sign up for National's Emerald Club, I get the terms and conditions page and it says on the bottom that "Enroll in National Car Rental's Emerald Club for an annual fee of $50 (USD)."

I keep reading that its free on other threads. Am I in the wrong spot? I can't see anywhere else to go. Is it free or 50.00 a year to join? Help!

Go to mousesavers.com and go to car rentals, under national there is a link for free membership.

You can also get a free membership through the Mouse for less travel site. Just use ID number 5453204 when you register. This will also be your contract ID number. Good luck!
