National Code NHOL Not Helpful

In my situation at least (8-day full size in early Dec), the NHOL product code did not produce useful results. It gives a rate $20 higher than the proper DC code and coupon combination through Emerald Club. The NHOL rate is actually the same as what I get using only the Emerald Club contract number.

Also, in spite of what it says on mousesavers, it did not respond to any of several contract IDs and coupon IDs I tried. They gave the same result as the NHOL code alone.

I tried NHOL with my BJ's codes and coupon and saved $25 for a 3 day rental. I went from $102 for 3 days to $78. Quite a big savings in my book.

Erik have you tried NHOL recently. The code had expired at 9/30/02 but has since been extended.

I tried NHOL yesterday (Sept 29) in conjuction with DC code and coupon. The rate was higher than DC code and coupon alone. I still have a reasonable (NOT CHEAP) ressie that I made several months ago for December, but continue to check, just in case they drop the rates. So far, they are quoting higher.

I also tried the NHOL code yesterday. It produced a higher rate for my 8 day early December rate.

$246.19 for full size with NHOL, DC contract ID, and DC coupon for a free weekend day

$215.26 for full size with only DC contract ID and DC coupon for a free weekend day

I had the exact same result for my Dec 3-14, 2002 trip. With NHOL the price was $5 more.

But I will keep trying. Disney transportation is looking better and better.

I lucked out also...my 5 day rental for DIS CON in Dec for an Inter. on the aisle was $144 with NHOL and DC, Coupon and $171 with DC, Coupon alone....

The NHOL did absolutely no good for me either. Neither did the DC code/coupon, AP code, or BJ's code/coupon. They all gave me the exact same rate, very high!!

I don't know why the discounts aren't registering, but at least now I know I'm not the only one it's happening to!

Try calling National and see what they say. Maybe there is a problem with the website.

I wouldn't give up on it without making a phone call.

Try using them on for all different size vehicles. I noticed that there was no difference in price for certan size vehicles. When I tried the code on a full size vehicle there was a savings of about $75 using an AARP code 6100120 or the Disney Club Code 5901600. I also wonder if some dates are not available for code use? What do you think?

Those who are having problems using all of the discounts together -- it might be that your dates are blackout dates for NHOL.

However, I also find the National web site can just plain be very flaky about giving the discounts. It's something to do with cookies, I think.

I figured this out because half the time I would put all the info in, and the discounts wouldn't register, but the next day it would work fine. So I tried just shutting down my computer and restarting. Sometimes that would fix it.

Recently I tried clearing my cookies and temporary Internet files, and that fixed it.

It's frustrating, but it might be worth trying one or more of these fixes if it will save you some money!

Wow, I must be the only one who LOVES this code.

We wanted to rent a mini van to drive from Philly to WDW and back. The total rental would be 12 days.

The absolute best price I could find was thru AVIS for $600.39 with unlimited miles.

When I entered the info on National's website using the DC codes, the amount was $727.50 with VERY LIMITED MILES .

However, I just went to National's website and plugged in the same info but used the NHOL code. I got a rate of $486 for the full 12 days with unlimited miles.

WOW :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Today I rebooked my 4-day rental for mid-October using all three - NHOL, Disney Club contract # and Disney Club coupon.

Total with taxes & fees was $109.57, down from $163.20 with just the contract # and coupon.

Only down side is that it wouldn't work when I was logged in to Emerald Club. As I reported on MouseSavers, you can't use Emerald Club if you want this deal. I even tried calling and having my EC number added to the reservation by phone. Reservationist couldn't get it to work.

So I'll have to check in at the counter. Worth it to save over 50 bucks!
