I keep on reading thru back posts and National seems to give GREAT deals! So how come I cannot get any better than $199. per week?? I need two weeks in July18-August1. I have Disney Club and a coupon for $20. But still come up at $390.75 as the final price!! Can anyone offer me some HELP!! Thanks, Joan:(

199.99 a week isn't all that bad if you are looking at a Minivan or SUV.. What kind of vehicle are you reserving?

Sorry, I forgot to mention it is a full size car! Thanks, Joan:eek:

Unfortunately, rates have gone up since those posts awhile back. Also, Full is now more money than Intermediate even with Emerald Club as they've made some changes to their service.

I was one of the lucky ones who got Full size for $111. for a week total with taxes and fees (November) but now that same rate is $185.15 total with the discounts/fees added.

All you can do is wait and hope rates come down again. Meanwhile, you can also check with Alamo and Dollar!

Good luck!

I reserved a minivan 10 days in august at around $325 (the extra days over the weekly rate are expensive). I got the best rate using a Gold C coupon. I got no better rate from Alamo, Dollar, etc. I'll shop again in a few months when the late summer rates come out.

Thanks for the replys. I have tried all major car rentals. National was the best deal with Disney Club code and coupon. I guess I will just try everyday and hope to catch something cheaper! I should have booked a week ago but I was wainting for my airfare to go down! Which actually I finally got a good deal with 15% off Southwest! Joan

Joan S

I just got a minivan for 8 days with Alamo for 158.19 plus taxes which brings the total to about 205.00.
We are going in October! I will PM you the code number!

Since I was still on Alamo's website, I entered all of your info in (dates and car) and the base rate without taxes is 358.18 for the rental period and with taxes is about 458.00. I hope this helps.

Joan,
Hi, I just checked Budget with a code and got a rate of 297.98 w/o tax and 386.32 with estimated taxes for a fullsize for your entire rental period. I will PM the code.

Thnak You Jill for all the info!! I am at $390. for the two weeks with National. Last week I was able to pull it up at about $70.cheaper! I did not book because I had to buy plane tickets first and was not quite sure if I would fly out at nite or the next morn.I booked Southwest on Monday and by then the price on the rental car had risen!! I guess I will just keep trying!! Joan

I reserved a car through National's website last week (hoping I did it right!!) and put in the Entertainment coupon code on an intermediate--then it gave the the option to upgrade to a full-size for $50 cheaper!! So we reserved a full-size for a week in June for $171 taxes included. Still hoping I did it right--never rented a car before--but I've got the confirmation and coupon.

Campingcorgi, Thanks for the info. I just sent for the Ent. Book on Sat. Would you be able to Pm the code to me so I could try for it before my book comes? Thanks for the help! Joan

I have an entertainment book and all I can find for discounts is the 15 and 20 dollar discounts and the upgrades. Is there a better entertainment deal or is this it. I am looking at a minivan for june 23 to july1 and it seems to be around 309.00. Any help would be appreciated.

mtchbx:I used the $20 off a week coupon, and it came up with the rate and then it gave me an upgrade option for less money.

Good luck!

Campingcorgi, I went back on the National rental site yesterday and was able to get a rate $50. CHEAPER! So I am now at $340.22 for the two week rental of a full size car. (they dropped the weekly rate)I am still using my Disney Club # and $20. coupon to get the best rate. I tried the ENT. # but for me there was no upgrade cheaper:( I will keep trying each day and just make a new RES. if the price drops again. Joan
