I have a rate of $185 (inc tax and stuff) for an Intermediate on EI for the week...do you think I can do any better? And If I do Emerald Isle, what exactly does that mean...I by pass the counter right? But do I get to choose any car? Thanks

I have an intermediate EI for 5 days, 3/7 - 3/12. I paid $177 so it sounds about right.
Yes you bypass the counter and go straight to the National garage to the Emerald isle row and choose any car there you see.
You must have you Emerald card, credit card, and any coupons ready to hand to the attendant as you exit with the car, they do all the paperwork there.
I was there in October and EI had mid size SUV's, PT cruiser conv, VW Bug Conv and 3 or 4 styles of 4 door cars like Chevy Impala. Lots to choose from.

Remember to walk all the way down the isle to see all that is available, most people take what is in the first few rows and don't realize how far down the isle goes.

what codes are you using to get those rates? I am getting $250 for 3-3 through 3-10. thanks.

I used the $30 off coupon link from an email, but I also think it is on Mousesavers Coupon ID: NF1982JDD (print the coupon), then I used wweb(PRC), and the emerald member Contract ID 5007125 from mousesavers. It must be for exactly 1 week.
I checked your dates...not as good...all I could get was the same 250. Could it have to do with you are now under 30 days?:confused3

That sounds like a pretty good rate these days.

Can you tell me when you rates started dropping? I asked in another thread a few weeks ago and they said about 2 weeks before the trip. I am wondering because my rates have not moved much at all for my late April trip.

I know that this is not National, but I have found the best rate so far on Dollar using the KISS2 code. I have used National on my past 2 trips so I am partial to National, but I am willing to give Dollar a try for a price differnce of $50.

I also found out 2 other intresting things
1) my rate is $100 less because I am not dropping the car at MCO I am dropping it at the Dolphin, because we are leaving on the 18th and the extra day made it $100 dollars more expensive(but I guess it was MCO, because I tried 7 days and got the same thing).
2) My friend and I were just booking the same car, codes, etc everything identical(we were on the phone at the same time)....the base rate was the same and then she had an extra fee, which I didn't have. So I ended up booking it in her name, email and emerald club...able to save her $15.:confused3 I am soooooo confused

For National I am using the entertainment code plus a coupon for one free day, which at this time is around $33. So my Emerald isle rate for 6 days is $175 total, 3/7 - 3/12.
There are also Alamo Coupons and codes in the Entertainment book and it is coming to $144 for the same time, intermediate car.

You can get an Entertainment book off the Mousesavers website, it was about $25. After you order your book you can go on line and print these coupons before your book arrives or wait for the ones in the book. They send you a membership email.

It is a great book I have already saved on the car rentals and on flights with the coupons in the book.

There is no point in listing the codes since you have to present the coupons when you rent the car.

couldnt get National any cheaper.

I already booked with Alamo. Just saved $10.50 by re-booking, so now it is $196 for 8 days. Used the same codes.

Can you please post your code. I am renting from Alamo using the Costco Coupon and Code for $238 from March 8 @ 11:00am to March 16 @2:30pm for a mid size SUV.
