We go in two weeks and I'm getting nervous!!
I have never rented a car before.....I booked a mini-van at National Car's website and by giving our credit card info I could sign up for thier "Quck rent". Says we can just walk out to their lot, pick up and mini-van and drive towards the exit where someone will stop us and check us out. Get to bypass the counter which is great since our flight arrives at about 10pm on a Friday night.
Has anyone used this service? Did it really work?
Now I"m nervous we will walk out there and there will be no mini-vans like we reserved (we have 7 people so its a must have). If this happens, what do I do? If I pitch a fit, what do I ask for as far as compensation??
THanks
Jill

I have utilized a service like that 2 times. Once with National (but not for a mini-van) and one with Budget (for a mini-van). Both times I had absolutely no problem. With Budget, there was a little tented area that had a screen with people's names on it that were picking up vehicles that day. It stated what aisle your vehicle was in. I went to the aisle, picked out which one I wanted and drove to the gate. There was a tag hanging in the van which I gave to the check-out person, as well as my license. They checked it all out and we were on our way.

We used this in June. We ran into a small snag when they didn't have any intermediate cars in the lot, but the person working the lot told us to just take something out of Emerald Aisle.

When you get up to the counter and you give them your drivers license and CC (I believe they tell you to bring the one you made the reservation with), make sure to tell them you are doing a quick rent and not Emerald Aisle. We got quite a scare when they told us we were not in the system initially.

It should work out great! Much better than waiting in line.

You don't go to the counter with Quick rent. You go directly to the garage and select your vehicle.

We've used Quick Rent in Las Vegas several times and loved it. And we just bypassed the counter and went straight to the car. Just had to show driver's license and the online paperwork at the exit and all was fine.

Our flight on Dec. 17 arrives near midnight, so would this option work for us if the last pick up time via internet booking is 11:59 p.m.?

Thanks,
Michelle

Was the Budget rental at Orlando airport?

If I remember right, you can't pick a car at MCO.
