Peru is going to temporarily extradite Joran van der Sloot to the US to face the Extortion charges.

A great victory for Natalee's Family.

I think it would be awesome to allow some of the guys Natalee went to High School with to be Joran's official "escorts" while he is in the States-I am sure they would love some "alone time" with the Psychopath!

Natalee was 18 when she was taken and has now been gone for 18 years so she has been gone the same number of years she was alive.

The opposing forces when it comes to XX women are so strange and everytime I read a story like Natalee's I am reminded.

On one hand the whole narrative of XX femicide & mistreatment is skewed to seem somehow normal, business as usual.

On the other hand countless women are targeted and victimized for simply existing. We, XX females, who make up more than half the world's population are systematically preyed upon, hunted, mistreated, abused, stalked, pawed at and often murdered simply because Nature/God had imbibed us with extraordinary gifts. When weak XY men come across these gifts that they are denied they feel inadequate & try to take these gifts for themselves in one way or another. Natalee's story was horrifying. She was just one of countless but her life was as valuable as all the other countless women men extinguish either literally or figuratively, every single day.

Wonder if I will ever live to see the tide turn? I am so rooting for young women, Gen Z I think, to take the sceptre, it's ok with me if my generation gets skipped as long as the world changes.

What is an XY female? What is an XX man? If you don’t understand why this confuses me, none of what I can say would help.

As I said, there are some XY females but the majority are XX. Hence the confusion.

I see that it was typo that she corrected - should have been XX woman and XY men. Though, like you, I still don’t see the point of including it (especially when it was wrong originally).

I just hope the extradition isn't bungled. The only reason Van Der Sloot was able to kill that poor woman in Peru was because the FBI bungled things in Aruba and lost track of him, which allowed him to flee to Peru with the $25,000 given to him.

In reference to the topic at hand, I really wish for peace for Natalee's family. It must be excruciating to not know what happened to your loved one. I can't imagine the pain.

How does a temporary extradition work? If he is found guilty, does he go back to Peru, finish that sentence, and serve a sentence in the US?

The most plausible account regarding Natalee seems to be an overdose. One scenario is they were taken voluntarily ...another that Joran slipped her date rape drugs. Either way Joran is culpable in her death. MO Everything that followed is so unreal. A coverup, extortion...leading to another death.

The timing of this is odd, but if it results in keeping Joran in prison longer, it’s a good thing. However, I agree that Natalee’s family will never have closure, or recover her remains. IMO, it’s likely he dumped her in the ocean.

Yes, I agree, she was dumped in the ocean. Why bury her when there is a whole ocean all around? Go out far enough where the current would take her body away and she'd never be found.

Natalee's story has always been so heartbreaking to me. I am a high school teacher and every year our kids take a non-school sponsored trip to the Bahamas with some company that specializes in graduation trips. It makes me SO nervous.

Van der Sloot will supposedly reveal how Natalie died and how her remains were disposed of in exchange for a plea deal.
