Is there anything new to do in Nassau? This is our 4th time there in 3 years and we are looking for something different!

In Jan 2002 we were on the Magic in St. Thomas and rented a crewed sailboat then went snorkeling around St. John. It was the best day of the entire vacation. Our DD are still talking about it.

Has there been any talk about changing this Destination?

We have 2 DD (5 and 9)

Thanks:smooth:

Where else would they go? There aren't many islands near Florida that can handle deep-water vessels. The only alternative would be a "cruise to nowhere".

Dave,

A 'cruise to nowhere' might just be the thing for some that have been to Nassua before and choose to stay on the ship during subsequent cruises. From what I have read on this board there is not much to do in Nassua besides Atlantis and not many are impressed with the island itself.

We are doing the 3 night in October so I can judge for myself.

I would love a 4 night cruise to "nowhere"! (With only a stop to Castaway Cay, of course!)

All I want is to enjoy that beautiful ship!!!

Just remember, you can make your own "cruise to nowhere"...just because the ship stops in Nassau doesn't mean that you have to get off! Hubby and I rarely disembark there anymore. We just pretend it's a day at sea. In some ways, it's better than a real sea day because there are less people around so the pools, movies, etc. are not at all crowded.

I agree! We are not planning to disembark at all when we do the Wonder again in '04.

However, we are planning some short excursions (Atlantis Sub, shopping for tropical cloths in St. Maarten) on our Eastern trip in Jan. Since we are very light skinned MN folks, we are saving our beach day for CC. LOL this all may be to much sun for us.

I agree with Barb, we've done 3 cruises on the Wonder and a couple on other cruise lines with the same itinerary, and it's so nice to have a day with the boat practically to ourselves! I can always find a chair to lay out on, and walking the different decks is a breeze and you feel like it's "your boat". That has been the times we've explored and taken our pictures of the different locations on the ship without a mass of people around! It's pretty nice.
It'd be nice if they'd just take out Nassau and do 2 days at Castaway Cay. I'd go for that in a heart beat!!
