There is my mom, my cousin, myself and my two kids ages 13 & 11. I think for excursions my children are considered adult prices. So we are trying to do some excursions w/o me having to put too much money out for 3 adult prices. So we can all get a cab and goto the Atlantis. Then we can walk around Atlantis for free and if we want to go to the aqauriam,we can pay 29 bucks a piece to do that? Or what kind of things can we do fun for cheap?

TIA Steph

The town is just a short distance from the dock and we usually walk around a bit in that area. The Straw Market is just down the street to the right after you come out of Festival Place at the end of the dock. Everyone passes through there coming and going.

Atlantis is a great place to visit. Last time we were there the taxi was $4.00pp each way so it's not too costly.

Don't forget the ship will be less crowded so the youngsters might enjoy the pool a bit less crowded as well. Great time for the rest of you to relax around the pool, too.

Have a wonderful time.

Besides the info the other poster gave you, there is a great pirate museum located 2 blocks behind the straw market, only 10 minute walk from the ship. it is a large purple building. you buy admission in the gift shop. $12 per person, takes about an hour to do.
Right at the port is a horse and carriage ride that takes about 20 to 25 minutes. It is narrated but the noise from the traffic makes it hard to hear. i tis a fun relaxing ride. Just something you dont normally get to do at home.
$10 per person.
Of course shopping at the straw market is an experience you will either love or hate. it is a different culture but for us that is what makes it so much fun.

thanks for the replies! Where can I find info about how much it cost to goto the aquarium at atlantis? TIA Steph

Hi, it was $29 last year. It may of gone up.
Perhaps you could google search for Atlantis Hotel Nassau and then some where on their site it should help you. If not I'm sure someone here has been recently and could help you.

Steph, I am sorry, they have changed the site since I was last looking at it. I cant find a current price either.
I asked a friend who went last year and they paid $29 per person for admission to the Dig. If it has gone up I'm sure it wont be too much more. Once you get on board the ship they will have a shore excursions desk and they should know for you, if you dont find it before then.

I will ask around some more and see if I can find someone who has been there recently.

We were there in January. A water taxi is $3 pp each way. We wanted to walk around Atlantis like to the beach and to where we could get a good picture, but they only let you in certain parts of the hotel and not much on the grounds unless you buy a wristband or have a room key.

Inside the hotel there is the aquarium. There are 9 large viewing windows that are free. The kids may get enough aquarium from this and then you won't have to spend the $29 or so each. I wouldn't spend the extra $29.

thanks for the replies. If we can see the fish for free that sounds fun to me..lol. Also thanks for the idea about the pirate measum. That sounds like a great idea!

I have stayed at the Atlantis several times and have done Disney cruises a lot. If you're looking for cheap at the Atlantis there are only two things I can tell you: either it's free or it's expensive. And I mean really expensive - really. If you're looking for free, the best thing to do is just take a cab and go there. Unfortunately you won't be able to go outside towards the pools or beaches without the wristband. What you can do for free is to walk inside the resort. First of all, the resort is massive. It's really three resorts, uh, now 4 resorts in one. Each tower has a separate feel to it. Royal, the tower most guests come into, has the casino and is flashy. Beach and Coral are more laid back and the new Cove is upscale, think Manhattan condo, style. Walk into the Royal tower, go downstairs. There's a massive aquarium to look at and it's free. Walk the rest of the property inside. The casino is nice. There's a lot to look at inside that's free.

As far as the Dig at the Atlantis, I can't tell you anything about that. In all the times that I've been there, we were never interested. Spent entire time outside at pools, which are incredibly amazing.

Hope this answers your question.
