Looking at doing the Blue Lagoon for the day. Has anyone been there recently? How is the snorkeling? Can we do it on our own and not thru DCL? Is it touristy?

Thanks! :earseek:

did the blue lagoon back in 2000,had a good time, snorkleing isn't all that, you swim in a small lagoon, not the ocean. but was still worth it. nice lunch, steel band. if you feel like exploring you can walk the length of the island and dip in the ocean along the way, wife and I did, left the boys back at lagoon, no problems. don't think it would be worth the trouble to make arrangements on your own, pretty involved.

Also, around the area where the dolphin encounter is, there are stingrays that you can swim with and feed. We are heading out on Sept 8 and booked the Blue Lagoon . After reading Deb's Unofficial Guide book, I found a bunch of other fun stuff to do that is not offered by Disney. When is your cruise? When I get back, I'll let you know what it was like. Here's the site.

Sorry, I am not very computer literate so I can not provide you with one of those fancy blue hyperlinks!!LOL

Cantw8,

We are going 12/05 and would love to hear about your experience. Also, thanks for the link.

I noticed on your post you are from West Chester, Pa. We just moved from Downingtown, Pa back home to Ohio. I sure do miss the those philly cheese steaks and King of Prussia.

Have a great trip!
