We are going on our first 4 night Wonder cruise in January (hopefully not the last). I just stared looking at their excursion and have some questions.

Nassau excusions:

Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter which on the web site says its $113.50 per person. How long are you in the water? Can you explain what you do on this excursion.

I also heard about the Dolphin swim (the one not through DCL). Which is better? (Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encournter or the Dolphin swim). Can you please explain both please.

Freeport excusions:

Kayaking Nature Tour

We have never kayaked and my DH has heard that kayaking is very dangerous if the kayake flips over. Can someone please explain to my DH that this is safe and has anybody been on this excusion? Is this a good one to take? Please explain.

Out of all of the excursions which of the Nassua and Freeport excursions are not to be missed?

Thanks for your input.

I can answer the kayak question. I am a 47 year old, fairly inactive "short for her weight" woman. I kayak on rare occasions, and haven't ever tipped over, and never feel that I am going to tip over. My fit, strong 18 year old son tipped over his first time out, however. What did he do? He didn't follow directions - he pushed off from the little dock with his paddle instead of paddling away, and turned himself right over. He had on his life vest, as required, bobbed immediately to the surface, and the guide helped home back in the kayak. That was the last time he didn't listen to the guide!

I don't have lots of arm strength, and I get tired towards the end of a trip, but being ON the water gives you a beautiful perspective on your surroundings, and a feeling of flying or gliding over the surface of the water as if you were a water bird yourself.

Went on the Dolphin encounter this past summer. You go into waist high water for a photo op with the dolphin, then groups of 10 go into the water to interact with the dolphin ("dance" with them, feed them, get a hug, give them a rub down). That takes about 15 minutes for each group. The dolphin swim took place at the same location, but I'm not sure how long, or what all you get to do with the dolohin. If you're not a good swimmer, or have younger children, the encounter would probably be right for you.

If you are considering doing the Encounter/Swim consider doing it in Freeport. It is less expensive...if cost is a concern. We were there all together about 1 1/2 hours and were in the water a short time, but this tour was alot of fun...lots of information and very educational fo rthe kids. We were also able to take our own pictures (no hard sell) and a photographer from the ship was on...I really enjoyed this encounter....

Thanks everyone.

My husband is still VERY NEGATIVE  about the kayaking. My husband is very paranoyd about the flipping over the kayak and you cannot rescue yourself and you drown. With the kayake itself is there a suit with this and does it attach you in? (sorry my husband wanted me to ask that question).

We are doing the dolphin encounter. If money is an issue at that time we will go with reggie92762 suggestion.
