Okay, fellow NASCAR fans time to help the pod crew by making a list:

1. Check out sites like nascar.com, jayski.com, etc.
2. There are races that have both right and left turns. (ex. Watkins Glen)
3. The guys/gals with clipboards/binoculars/radios---spotters
4. Drafting--makes for exciting lead changes
5. Going 4-wide---wreck potential goes up
6. No passing a racer below the yellow line to get a win.
7. Winner at the Brickyard kisses the bricks as a tradition.
8. Big changes are coming in 2009...like Tony Stewart will no longer be #20 :(
9. It is hard to get MRN radio in the mountains to listen to a race.
10. The King is Richard Petty. 200 wins. 7 championship cups.
11. Richard Petty's last race (Nov. 1992) was Jeff Gordon's (#24, Dupont sponsored car) first NASCAR race.
12. How many sports are out there where you can have more than 1 generation racing at the same time?
13. Ashley Judd had a major NASCAR fashion mistake at the 2008 Daytona---she wore a dress...not what a wife is suppose to wear at that race.
14. The cars can have different paint schemes during the year.

LOVE IT! Thanks for pointing me to this. Love your tutorial explaining.....got a good laugh out of it!:goodvibes

I'm glad I am not the only non redneck that likes Nascar!!

Thanks for the great list!!

The headphones are for scanners, so you can hear the driver and his team talk during the race, or MRN the radio broadcast. Or they are radios.

I have a question. I know nothing about NASCAR but why should Ashley Judd not wear a dress? I had no idea there was a dress code. I learn something new everyday. Thanks for teaching me!

People need to wear pants and sleeves as a safety measure. I think the wives may be allowed to wear dresses in the boxes/stands. Ashley Judd was wearing a low cut sundress during speed weeks in the garage area.

Thank you for helping me understand. That makes total sense.

And us Disney/Nascar fans love doing the Richard Petty Experience at WDW:

A couple of NASCAR terms is helpful in the parks.

We use go high and go low in this week's park touring (right/left).

I-95 stretch in FL is like driving in the Daytona race itself.

BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY, LET'S GO RACING BOYS! is NASCAR's version of ropedrop.

The burnout at the end of the race is NASCAR's version of Wishes.

The bump and run is NASCAR's version of line-cutting.

Kyle Busch is NASCAR's version of the annoying people who have meltdowns at the parks and say "We paid alot of money for this vacation and you're going to have a good time whether you like it or not."

Soarin' in NASCAR is not a good thing.

That's all I can come up with.
