Well, it's Monday so it's time to post the thread ;)

This week's race is at Fontana CA on Sunday Night. No one won this race last year because there wasn't one! So who will be the first time ever winner...Jr? Gordon? Johnson? Newman? Maybe even Brendan Gaughan or Kasey Kahn (both did well here in the first ever race at the track last spring).

Pick your top 5 and a spare. Picks must be submitted prior to qualifying on Friday - not sure of the time but they will be on the left coast so it will be late probably around 6 or 7PM Eastern time. I'll post as soon as I know for sure.

Good luck!

My picks:

1. #77 - Brendan Gaughan (why not??)
2. #24 - Jeff Gordon (always)
3. #48 - Jimmie Johnson (he's at home)
4. #97 - Kurt Busch (does well here)
5. #42 - Jamie McMurray (haven't picked him enough this year)

Spare - #9 Kasey Kahne (closest track to his home so pratically home ;))

Hey ToriLammy....thanks again....this is fun!

I wish no one would win, I wish the race track was else where! It is hell here when there is a race, you can't go were you want, the traffice is horrible, the police are such pains in the ***, not letting you go where you need to go and the noise is deafing.

They should have put it in the middle of no where, not where they did!

Just had to throw my 2 cents in!!

Debbie

The middle of a bunch of steel mills IS the middle of nowhere! Ask the folks in Long Beach, they see massive traffic all weekend for the LBGP. Just think of all the money it brings into your area. All those full hotels, all the shoppers and diners at Ontario Mills. All the revenue at the airport. You can deal with it for one weekend, I'm sure! Just make your plans to be elsewhere, if you can't deal with the noise. Gosh, I hope you don't live THAT close to the Speedway!

Here are my picks for the week:

1) #48 Johnson
2) #24 J Gordon
3) #8 Jr.
4) #9 Kahne
5) #29 Harvick

Spare) #97 Busch

I'll go with my same five.

Stewart
Jarrett
Harvick
Kahne
Gordon J.

Spare: Johnson

I wish no one would win, I wish the race track was else where!

Last year, the 2 races that took place in Fontana (on the same weekend) brought a total of 136 MILLION dollars to the local economy. The track is also a rateable that pays upwards of 10 million dollars a year in local and state taxes. ISC, the owners of the Fontana complex, also are very deep into charitable causes. In addition to direct financial contributions to over 200 charities, ISC allows non-profit groups to use its facilities for walk-a-thons and other events.

So, if you want, I'll be glad to have them move that facility right into my town. I can only dream of the economic impact it would have and if I were not a race fan, the inconvenience of one weekend of traffic and rude cops would surely be outweighed by the $$ brought in by NASCAR fans.

GO JR!!!!!!
