It's that time of week and no that's not a typo - I know it's supposed to be Talladega but we all know that the track belongs to Dale JR these days
Doesn't mean I want him to win but I'm a big enough person to know that he is the favorite
Last Year's winner was of course Dale JR in the spring. The pole winner for that race was Jeremy Mayfield. At Talladega in the fall we had Waltrip as the winner (busting JR's dominence and wrecking his chance for 5 in a row) and Elliott (Wild Ride) Sadler was the pole sitter.
So, is JR going to take back his track from his teammate or is Mikey going to use this as a chance to turn his season around? Or will we have another driver as the winner? Will Sadler make up for that wild ride he took in the fall? Will Harvick finally break thru and get a win at Talladega? How about Kerry Earnhardt who will be attempting to qualify and run the race in Richard Childress' black #33? Is it the equipment or the driver? What's it gonna be?
You know the drill, picks must be in by the start of qualifying which is scheduled for Friday, Apr 23rd at 4PM Eastern time.
My picks:
1. 24 - J. Gordon (it's my birthday on Saturday and he's overdue)
2. 32 - R. Craven (was in the top 10 both races last year)
3. 29 - K. Harvick (always there trying for that win)
4. 8 - D. Earnhardt Jr (I'm not stupid
)
5. 48 - J. Johnson (was torn Busch or Johnson....picked Johnson cause he screwed up at Martinsville and owes his team a win)
Spare - 2 - Rusty Wallace
Good luck everyone!
