Inasmuch as we are going to have to cancel our Dec. trip, I've been trying to come up with "the next best thing"..

Which one of these would be best in terms of crowds and weather:

Jan. 31 to Feb. 8th

Feb. 3 to Feb. 11th

Feb. 28th to March 7th

--------------------------------------

I'm particularly concerned with the weather - RAIN, to be specific..

Which would you pick? We'll be staying off-site so although higher rental car rates may apply during one or more of those periods, it isn't necessary for us to go in the WDW Resort Value Season..

---------------------------

One more alternative (although I'm not crazy about it) is to skip this trip entirely and just plan for NEXT December.. However, I think it would be easier to take my grandchild out of Kindergarten for this vacation than it would be (academically) in the first grade next year..

Thoughts or comments?

I would choose January 31 to February 8. We have gone several times during this period, and we have always had good weather, and the crowds are indeed small. If missing school is an issue (even though it is Kindergarten), then your grandchild will miss more time in your second choice. The third choice is starting to get into Spring Break season, I think, and its possible that the crowds will be larger, IMHO.

Whatever you decide, have a GREAT time with your grandchild!

Thanks so much! I've been favoring that time period as well.. I'm not so much concerned about the crowds as I am the weather... I know that Florida has been experiencing some very unusual weather patterns the last few years, but if you can recall, what was the weather like when you went during that time frame?

We'll be traveling from the northeast so anything above 50 degrees would probably be gorgeous for us - LOL..

As I recall, one time it was actually shorts and t-shirt weather; the other time it was jeans and polo shirt weather. Both times we had no rain except for in the later evening, and no fireworks were cancelled. Of course, like you say, the weather has been somewhat unusual lately. Hope this helps.

My pesonal opinion would be the third choice as Jan and Feb could be days when you get cold spells and some rides especially the water ones would be ones that would want to be skipped if you didn't want to walk around being damp

Not that you can't get themin March but we have always gone in March and have had fairly decent weather with not too many rainy days maybe 4 in the last 4 yrs

In terms of the crowds I would choose #1 or #2 (#1 is a little better). We have been during that time period many times and have always had short wait times for our favs.

But if your focus is on the best weather then option #3 would be best for warmer temps, but options #1 and 2 would probably leave you a little drier.
