Hi there,

For our trip in December we would like to go to either Citrico's or Narcossee's for an "adults only" dinner while the children go to the Neverland Club.

Could anyone who has been to either (or both!) please let me know your thoughts and opinions of which might be better?

Many thanks for your help!

Karen

We like Narcoosees, it has a lovely view of the MK and Contemporary and the lake. Great menu, lots of choices. We haven't tried Citricos - I've heard it is good but not sure if you have any kind of view?

I've dined at both many times. Citrico's wins for an adult evening by a landslide. The food is better. The service is MUCH better. And the atmosphere is subdued and adult. Narcooses does have good food, but we've had some rather dismal service there, and the atmosphere tends to be loud. There are a LOT more kids at Narcooses.

We love them both. We have had service issues at Narcoossee's once and at Citricos twice. But usually the service at both is great in our experience. We also think the food is excellent at both. Both are expensive.

If both menus appeal to you, I would pick Citricos because it is usually much more quiet. It is a huge room and usually not too full. Narcoossee's has hardwood floors and is much more compact so you hear the noise once the restaurant fills up.

Anne, your house is looking great!

Duclike and BCV23 nailed the pluses and minuses of both restaurants. I dined at both two weekends ago, after experiencing a good-not-great, expensive dinner at Narcoosee's in March 2003. Well, I eat my words! We had phenomenal service, rivalling Citricos (which is still the best). And the new menu is considerably less dowdy thant he last one.

Also, we were lucky to eat at a time and day when there were no kids.

I'll bump up my Narcoosee's review.

I like both restaurants and have always had excellent food and service. The view at Narcoosee is wonderful but I think that the overall experience and food is better at Citrico. We are going there in Oct. to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary.

Oh,oh
I had just decided on Narcoose's for one of our "nicer" dinners for our October vacation...now I'm torn!
We will have a 6-year old with us.
Should we stick with Narcoose's??

Thanks guys,

appreciate your help with this.

Thanks sotoalf for bumping the review of Narcossee's.

Thanks

Karen

It depends on your child. If they are used to dining out in fine establishments and sitting quietly for minimum 1 1/2 hours, then take them. Otherwise you might want to look into one of the kids clubs or in room sitters and have a parents night out while they play.

My experience is that Narcooses although due to it's construction is a noisy place and kind of "bustles" at times so kids kind of blend in more, service tends to be slow, and that might again be an issue.

It's one of the best restaurants at WDW.......period.
You won't be disappointed.

Have the wine pairings.

Stick with Narcoossee's. We just had a wonderful meal there (the lobster is fantastic) and the view of the castle is lovely. This is one of our favorite restaurants in WDW and are consistently happy with our experiences there.

We ate at Citricos for the first time since dining there the first year it opened and were completely underwhelmed. Service was excellent, but the food was mediocre, at best. I don't think we're alone in this opinion - on a Friday night at 8:00, there were seven tables seated in the entire restaurant.

Compared to Flying Fish, Palio, Brown Derby, Narcoossee's, and even Cinderella's Royal Table, Citricos was a complete disappointment. The wine selection is very nice, though, as are the desserts.

That's a disappointment. We dined at Citricos about three weeks ago (my third visit) and loved it. I've only seen it really crowded once, however; I don't think it's got anything to do with the food.

You're right about Narcoosee's. My first visit about 15 mths ago was underwhelming, but I was blown away by the lobster this last visit.
