Have not been to either before. Which is better & why?

We have done both for our anniv. Last year we went to Narcoosees. I timed the adr to see the fireworks. The server was less than friendly. We were seated in the upper level next to the bar and a noisy family, about as unromantic as you could get. The food was nothing memorable. Our anniv. was barely acknowledged. When it was time for the fireworks we decided to just stay inside. I tried to turn my neck to see them but because of my cancer surgery I couldnt turn and I really couldnt see anything. Dh and I were kind of laughing about it.

Fast forward to last week. We had our anniv. at Citricos. Our server Wade was awesome. So attentive and always telling us about each item on the menu. The food itself was fantastic. I had the shrimp appet., the salad with peaches, (awesome), chicken, good but a little dry I thought and we shared 2 desserts, a creme brule and another one.

There was also a liitle boy crawling around on the floor and he also bumped into my chair. I just looked at him, but said nothing. I then see a manager come over to the family and ask them - How is your day going?. I guess that was a polite way of saying, please control your child in the restraunt.

Hands down, Citricos is great.

Citricos is far superior in our opinion. We had a less than stellar experience at Narcoossee's and were not impressed with their food. Other than the view, it was mediocre at best. If you're having a celebration, Citricos is the place to go. The service is amazing and the food is outstanding!!

Agree.
Citricos has better food, better service, and a more quiet atmosphere. All Narcoossee's has is a view.

I like citicos better, I make that a must every vacation :)

I didn't vote because I cannot decide.

We love them both.

That being said...we have chosen Narccoossees twice and Citricos once.

Narcoossees is more of a relaxed (not to mean casual at all but just less pristine) venue where as we find Citricos more upscale...more, well more!

Citricos has more "fancy" food as the kids would say. The decor is more adult.

We have always had great service at both places and we have always loved our food.

On our trip coming up (IN 72 MORE DAYS!!!!) we are doing both!

Citricos is much better. The food and service are really outstanding. It's my favorite Disney restaurant.

Narcoossee's isn't worth it's signature status, IMO. It's not bad....just not up to par with the other signatures.

:thumbsup2 This.

Interesting. We ate at Citrico's for the first time last week and were underwhelmed. I agree that the menu options at Citrico's are more "exciting" and that Narcoossee's has more "standard" fare, but that's about where the benefit ends. The execution of our dishes at Citrico's was inconsistent and not up to the standards we expected. Our meal at Narcoossee's was more consistent; perhaps in part due to the less complicated dishes served there. The waitress at Citrico's was efficient, but she was actually rude to our DD17 more than once. Also, while Narcoossee's is busier, Citrico's was far from quiet.

+1
I find it astonishing how big the bill gets at Narcoossee's given the overall experience.

Narcoossee's has long been my favorite restaurant at Disney (except V&A), but we usually eat at the bar and just have appetizers etc. I've been to both for dinners with friends over the last year, and I will say that Citrico's was the better experience. I reviewed both experiences here and here.

If you have smaller kids, Narcoossee's is a better spot. If you have adults that want a quieter enjoyable meal, Citrico's is the place to be.

Its funny that this came up...I just did CItricos when i was down in May and I love it, but my grandparents rave about Narcoossee's so when we go in September, we booked that one...i guess i will wait and see the difference then But i loved Citricos. It wasnt loud and there were no screaming children...we were also sat next to the windows and had a view out to the pools. The food was delicious (i had the pork) and the service was fast and everyone was very nice. The Mango Margarita is also amazing :thumbsup2

Citrico's is one of my favorites! I've been several times and have never been disappointed by the food or service. It's always been top-notch.

Narcoossee's is so very average and so over priced. Service is mediocre. To me, it's not worth the effort to get there.

Narcoossee's. At our last meal at Citricos, the food was all incredibly mediocre. Narcoossee's has some really good dishes on the menu, such as the crab-crusted fish (usually halibut, mahi mahi, or flounder) and excellent desserts like the almond-crusted cheesecake, and I love the feeling of dining right by the water.

Narcoosee's. We have dined at both, and, frankly, were disappointed with the Citrico's experience.

Citrico's was incredibly noisy-- perhaps because we ate an early meal (6:00) so we could make it to Fantasmic? For whatever reason, it was loud enough that my husband and I could hardly carry on a conversation. Our server was very knowledgable about the food and wine, but not attentive. We ran short of beverages repeatedly throughout the meal, there were very long delays between courses, and he was just not especially good at checking back to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was merely mediocre. We followed our servers suggestions and ordered the "signature" items, and found that they simply lacked flavor. It was good, don't get me wrong; it just wasn't anything special. And since it's a signature restaurant, I guess I really did expect something special. My husband actually commented when we left that "we should have gone to a signature restaurant instead," and was shocked when I said that Citrico's WAS a signature restaurant.

Narcoosee's, on the other hand, was delightful. Our server was excellent-- attentive without hovering, and also very knowledgable. His food recommendations were spot on, and the food itself was delicious. Like eye-wideningly good. The cheese plate was fantastic, as were the seafood dishes that my husband and I both had. The atmosphere at Narcoosee's was quieter-- again, though, we had a later meal here, which may have played into it. Overall, our Narcoosee's experience was far far better than Citrico's.

Wow... talk about conflicting reviews here! :)

From what I'm reading, it looks like both can have off days, and that if one has kids Narcoossees is the place to go. So that's where we'll be heading! :goodvibes

Maybe we'll try Citricos next time around. :thumbsup2

Citricos. I haven't been impressed with a meal at Narcoosees since around 2000. It's okay, just not impressive. Citricos has remained near the top of our list for many years now.

Agreed. Terrible wait, so-so food. Service was good, but I was so out of the mood from the wait. It was over 1 hour from adr time before we got seated.
