Narcoosees or Party for the Senses??!!

I just do NOT know what to do...
Mom & I were going to do Narcoosees the last night of our trip (DH & kids veg at POP) But I sure would love to do Party of the Senses...worth the $ over Narcoosees?? (we are on DDP, so this is TRULY OOP compared to Narcoosees!)
If we gave up Narcoosees, we probably have enough TS to eat at Kona for breakfast one day, which I was wanting to do.
HELP!

Definitely try Party for the Senses, it's a great time. Narcoosee's is a great restaurant, no doubt about it, but for an exceptional experience you'll love PFTS.

I know nothing about PFTS, but I do know Narcoossee's. It is a divine experience that my mother an I loved. I saw my mother's eyes light up with wonder and delight during that meal, and that was just from the food. The service, Electric Water parade and seeing Wishes from the deck made for an amaziing eperience. By the way it seems the only answer they know is yes as they were very accomodating. I ordered the Surf and Turf and subbed scallops for the Turf, great move on my part too.

I would no pass up a meal at Narcoossee's to eat at Kona, twice.

BIG TIP: Have the Mango smoothie as a beverage, yes on the DDP!

I agree with SauceBoss. PftS is an AMAZING experience. It is worth every penny to us. Esp. if you like wine. There are some fantastic wines there.

Don't get me wrong, Narcoossees is a nice place to eat. I had a really wondeful evening there. But, PftS is truly a Special Event. You can only do it during F&W Fest.

How can you beat 25 Top Chefs from all over paired with over 70 wines and CdS performing right in front of you?

Oh no.... not what I wanted to hear... Our first dinner as DW & DH at WDW is at Narcoosees - I have never been there, but I was hoping it would be romantic and worth it.

PFTS. It's only held during the F&WF. You can eat at Narc. any time of year.

I've eaten ther twice in the last 6 months and it has been great both times. Just go and enjoy.

I may be a bit snobish, but I like my food served at the proper temperature, and I have had to send dishes back for not being what I ordered. I have no problems with the ambiance, or the wine service. Additionally, I never have liked the use of heat lamps, and to do so on an open kitchen where I can watch my entree sit there, and sit there, and sit there before being served is disheartening to me. As is the lack of any enforcement of the stated dress code.

On a positive, I will say the mussels on the menu as an appetizer where some of the best I have ever had.

Food is to me anyway, probably one of the most subjective topics you can discuss. Being in the F&W industry, and having food allergies may put me on a different scale then someone that..... (left blank as not to insult anyone if I was for example to say someone who lives in the middle of nowehere and says McDonalds is gourmet)

It is a romantic place, it has ambiance, has a very good wine list with knowledgable staff. Me personally, I would put Citrico's and California Grill above Narcossees on the food scale. That being said, I had a night of horrible service at CG last week - but the food was fantastic.

Having previously stated that food is subjective. Only you can decide which way to go. Look at the menu's online. If you are adventerous and would like to try many wines and foods, go for PFTS. If you are a beer or cognac fan, and go to PFTS if they are pouring Sam Adama Utopia this year have one for me. PFTS is a great experience. Enjoy!

I would love to try PFTS. I really love Narcoossee's too. We're going again this October, but DH is not keen on putting DS in a kid's club, then going across to Epcot (we're at the GF) It's just too much money to justify taking picky eater DS with us. Will be eating at Narcoossee's though. So please, please go to PFTS. Do a trip report and I can live vicariously through you. It would be a really fun thing to do with your Mom too.

Take a really healthy appetite, go early (skip the eat to the beat concert), and sample a bunch of different wines (oh I enjoyed my Fat ******* cabernet) and more food than you can possibly eat in one evening! Find a large table and make new friends and now and then watch a little La Nouba.

Like someone else said: narcoosie's isn't going anywhere, but PFTS in only a few times a year!

Disney71 I say go with your plans, Narcoossee's is a great choice for your special night.

Finally, OP as I said I know nothing aobut PFTS, but if wine if your thing PPs make it sound wonderful. No wine for me so it would be pointless. Hope whatever you decide its magical for you and Mom!

I went back to give them a second chance. I wanted to make a fair assessment of them.

Also being in the F&W industry you should realize that mistakes happen, nothing personal and not get so put off by it. There are people, falable people making our food, cut them bit of slack. They corrected it and I suspect it was done without attitude.

You'd suspect wrong. The correction was made with great attitude, and a flippant one at that. Food allergies are nothing to make light of. They can kill!! For a kitchen not to take an allergy seriously is a huge problem. Luckily I am not anaphylactic, I just get violently ill, very quickly Trust me, no-one in Narcossees would want to see projectile vomit coming out of me.

Actually being in the F&W industry I have very low tolerence for "major" errors. I will not cut any slack in an area that could kill someone. If it was a matter of a over salted dish, under cooked risotto, over charred, etc, etc, I could look the other way. But when it comes to temperature and health issues, I guess I am in the minority.

at $135 per person if the quality decreases this year - I would rather try Victoria and Alberts. I have to think a major portion of my ticket is to see the performers - I'd rather they spend it on wines - the time goes very fast - you must pace yourself.... the lines for the best quality can be long

My point is there are good and bad spins on anything you want to do - so be happy with the choices you've made - not second guessing on the choices you didnt make....

We gave up on PFTS a few years ago. We got tired of no available seating, less than thrilling wines, etc. Also, I've never been a Cirque de Soleil fan.

For the money, we'd rather have a terrific dinner somewhere. I agree with a previous poster, I'd take the money and go to V&A.

But, we're in the minority. PFTS has lots of fans.

I'm a fan because of the variety at P4TS. the lines are long to start with, but they die down as the evening progresses.

But they haven't poured Utopias in the past two years, you now have to go to the Jim Koch beer dinner if you want a taste.

And I wish they'd take the performances out, after several parties I guess I am tired of them. They play the music far too loud also.

All the same I'd rather roam around the party than sit in a restaurant. That atmosphere is much better for a single diner.
