? Narcoosee's as a substitue for CA Grill

We had and ADR for CA Grill on December 1 for 7:35 PM. A thread was started Sept. 12 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2282356 titled Got a Voicemail from Disney to call back about a reservation I made for CG...

I followed that thread with interest because we also have an ADR for CA Grill. The first 3 posters that also received calls, beginning on Sept. 11, had ADRs for 5:30 - 7:05 PM. I tried calling the special number on Sept. 12 to see if our later ADR would also be cancelled. Never heard anything back until last night when the dreaded voicemail was left on my husband's cell phone. Naturally, when I called back I got their voicemail. I requested that they call our land line either last night or today after 2:00 pm. Since I had trouble sleeping I decided to look at alternatives in case they can't get me into CA Grill later in our stay. I found an opening at Narcoosee's that I booked.

I know that Narcoosee's is not up high like CA Grill but my question is would we still get a fairly decent chance of seeing the fireworks over the castle from Narcoosee's? The menu looks very appealing. Any reviews on the food?

I'm actually getting ready to do a dining review on Narcoosses in my dining report! We just got back Saturday and went to both. California Grill topped Narc, but we still really liked Narc' food and it was nice going out to the balcony to watch the fireworks.

DH and I love Narcoosees and go there at least once every trip. Our Oct. trip, this year, we have ADRs twice for "Narc". We have not tried CG but do have an ADR in a couple of weeks.

From what I hear on the Dis....it may be louder and with more children in attendence at CG. We always plan our meal around Wishes at Narcoosees and tho we see children, they all seem very low key and well behaved.

We have always had great service a good selection of wine and awesome food at "Narc". Seeing Wishes is just the icing on the cake.

We actually prefer Narcoossees to CG. No, you are not up as high and you are further away, but the view is more straight-on to the castle. Also, we thought the food and service were better at Narcoossees.

You can see the fireworks from Narcoossee's balcony. If you have "front row" seats along the window you may be able to view the fireworks from your table as long as there isn't anyone standing on the balcony in front of you. Make sure to order the yummy cheesecake!

Been to all three and all three are great but my second choice would be Citricos this was so good . Narcoossee's is good to but I liked Citrico's a notch better.

Thanks to all of you. That's 5 great reports. I'm feeling pretty good about making the switch. I expect that the person calling me back re: the CA Grill ADR will be pleasantly surprised to learn that I'm happy with an alternative I've already found. I'll just need them to double check to be sure that the system hasn't dropped it as a double booking since it is within 5 minutes of the one we're being bumped from.

Narcoossees is a very good spot to watch Wishes from IMO, and they also pipe in the music.

Thanks for posting that review. I would probably also order the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. What was that greenish tinted splosh on top of the creamy colored mozzarella?

It was some time of basil cream. It was really yummy.

We have eaten at Narcoossees about 5 times in the past couple of years. It is our favorite place to eat. This July we did a delux ddp trip and ate at CG, YSH, Citircos, and Narcoossees and I have to say, that Narcoossees is STILL our favorite place to eat. While each was nice in their own way, we really had no desire to eat at any of them again in the near future, but Narcoossees is a must for every trip, so we eat there 3-4 times a year.
