Napa Rose tasting menu questions

I've heard (read) mention of the Chef's tasting menu at Napa Rose. Is this something that is always offered? If it is offered, are the specific items (corses) listed out prior to ordering? Does anyone know what I should expect for cost with wine pairing?

Are you talking about eating at the Chef's Counter? We did this in December and as far as I know it is always offered. There are 2 seatings a night (I think 5:30 and 8 pm, somewhere around those times). To get a reservation at the Chef's Counter you have to call the restaurant directly. I left a message and they got back to me within a couple of days. As far as knowing what is available, you will talk to your waiter and the chef to discuss likes and dislikes and they will "surprise" you every course, but I believe everything we had was on their "regular" menu. I opted for the wine pairing, which was wonderful, but we warned, it is a TON of wine LOL. I specially asked how much of a pour I would get per course and was told 1 -2 oz...instead I was giving close to a full glass. Made for a painful next day. As far as cost, it's pricey, but worth every penny for the whole experience. I think with 2 Chef's Selections, one wine pairing and a couple of jack and cokes was around $250 (but I don't remember exactly how much). Have an amazing time! We still talk about that meal 8 months later!
