Hi everyone: Just got back from DLR and had the pleasure of eating at the chef's counter Saturday night (thanks to the idea here on the DIS). :) It was the 2nd night of the new menu! The vintner's menu may change... not sure.... I took pics of the menu (big so you can read it), and also of some of the food (smaller). DH had things not on the menu as the Chef Sutton picked things directly for him. :) It was delicious!

Yum! Love the pictures!

We were there at the chef's counter on the 15th. Chef Sutton was SO nice to DD13! Told her all about who does what in the kitchen, about the ingredients in her meal, etc. Some of the things on the menu were the same, others are new additions. DD had the mushroom bisque "cappuccino" and some beef ribs in a demi-glace that are not on your menu; they were to die for! She said they were the best thing she'd ever tasted! I had the warm heirloom beet salad, and the crispy duck confit. I didn't have the nerve to take pictures, though! (more details in my trip report, link below)

It sounds like you had a wonderful experience, too! They are SO nice there. DD was a little nervous about such a "fancy" restaurant, but they made her feel very welcome, and she loved the whole thing!

I'm glad theres not really anything i would eat there cause the prices :scared1: ....Plus i don't think i would want to take my kids there, and unfortuantly ( lol:lmao: jk) they have to come on vacation with us lol

Do you think they'd deal well with a vegetarian if I called ahead? I'd love to try this out with my boyfriend for our 1-year dating anniversary, but I want to be able to eat something! He, on the other hand, would eat just about the whole menu!

I'm sure they would come up with something vegetarian for you... I would call ahead and ask, but I'm sure they would. They make each dish separately in a new pan, so I think it would be easy enough to come up with something meatless. Even better if you sit at the chef's counter... call the restaurant directly to make that reservation.

I know, it was NOT a cheap meal!!! But it's the only weekend we've had without the kids in 6 years, so it was our splurge! I only ate about 1/2 of each of my four courses and I was stuffed!! I really wanted to eat it all, but it was so much food.

I have eaten here twice once a regular meal the second was the coursed NYE event. Both times I was able to get things to eat with no issues and I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian. Looking at the menu it looks like everything would have to be custom created for you (I think one thing on my menu was veggy when I last went). I am really looking forward to going back some time soon, the food was very good, I so want to do the Chef's Counter next time!

BTW- Though you might not think of it, you can box up your meal if you are getting full! My first Coursed meal was the NYE event and I thought I would burst and we packed out our desserts. The next coursed meal I did, I learned my lesson and had them pack up a good part of my main course so I could eat dessert but be able to actually enjoy my food. It was some of my best left overs ever!!! :)

You had the seats that we are going to have in December when we try the Napa Rose for the first time. Thank you so much for the pictures, menu, etc.
