Day 1 – Saturday 9th July 2011

As usual, I was far too excited to sleep well the night before. My alarm could not sound too soon for me and when it did, I was up and ready in no time.

As we didn’t have the direct Eurostar train to Disney today, and instead had a Eurostar to Paris instead – we had plenty of time to spare. Our train wasn’t due to depart until 11:25. As soon as I was ready I drove to my Nan’s and collected her who was excited, but seeing as this was her first trip to Disney, she was also a bit anxious.

Mum had been diagnosed with Sciatica just days before today and she was in a lot of pain this morning – we since have found out that she has a Prolapsed Disc – so how she managed this trip, God only knows!

Spot on 8:30, our driver arrived and we were whisked to St Pancras where we sat and had a coffee and muffins and excitedly started trying to explain everything to Nan and get her up-to-speed with the itinerary I had spent months planning!

Time flew pretty quickly and before we knew it we were on board the Eurostar on our way to Gare du Nord where my Mum and Nan were relying heavily on me to get them from there to Disney in one piece (start remembering my French, start studying the train maps!!). Nan was already really excited and you could see it on her face, she kept on saying “I’ve always wondered what it was like on a Eurostar train and now I’m doing it!”

Upon arriving into Gare du Nord, I was so relieved that I had spent the past couple of days scouring the internet for photos inside the station and I was able to march us straight towards the Metro where I spoke to a nice man in a cap who gave us further directions. One stop on the metro later, we had changed and was sitting comfortably on the RER well and truly on our way to the magic!!

“I remember this from your photos!” Nan said to me as she first saw the signs welcoming her to Disney Village. I explained that today we would be staying at Sequoia Lodge and that we won’t be heading into the parks until tomorrow, but I think Nan was too busy taking in the atmosphere of the Village to even care for anything I had to say.

Once checked into Sequoia Lodge (we got a lovely Montana Room on the ground floor of the Main Building, close to the lifts too which made things easier for my Mum who was in a lot of pain from the train rides) our first stop was the Redwood Bar! Nan and Mum sat and both had a coffee each, whereas I went straight for my favourite – Redwood Cocktail! Needless to say, I wasn’t the only one who got to enjoy the Redwood as Nan “wanted to try” it too...

DSCN6042.jpg

It was now 5pm and we had 7:30pm reservations for Café Mickey. Mum decided that this would be the perfect time to introduce Nan to the resort and walk her through each hotel (the walking also helped the pain ease for Mum), which Nan loved seeing! After a walk through Sequoia Lodge, we made our way down to Cheyenne (which Nan absolutely loved) – she kept asking, “are we in the Theme Park Adam? It’s ever so quiet isn’t it, not as packed as we thought!” bless her heart – I had to explain that the parks were in the complete opposite direction and so were the masses!

DSCN6060.jpg

DSCN6077.jpg

We took in all the Cheyenne atmosphere and Nan kept saying how wonderful it must be for children to stay here. We then made our way to Santa Fe, back along the river and into Hotel New York. It took us long enough to get INSIDE Hotel New York as Nan was too busy admiring all of the colourful flowers outside.

DSCN6095.jpg

It was now 6pm and we were saving Disneyland Hotel and Newport Bay until after our meal this evening. Nan spotted the Rainforest Café and asked if she was allowed to have a look inside as a lot of people have mentioned the restaurant to her and she had always wanted to see it (she tells me this now! I would have gotten her a reservation if only I had known in advance!), so inside we went and the waitresses were more than happy to let Nan have a walk around the restaurant in awe.

DSCN6123.jpg

As we came outside (this was even new to me) we heard an announcement for the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show Parade. Nan thought that this was the OUADP at first, love her, but was really excited when the horses came out and she saw all of the costumes. She was smiling and waving to all of the cowboys (who would tip their hat in return to her) and I could see the magic beginning to hit her.

DSCN6108.jpg

DSCN6126.jpg

After the parade we had a quick wander through the shops, but decided we were really hungry (even though we still had an hour and ten minutes before our reservation), so we walked to Café Mickey and I put on my *Flynn Rider face* and asked if they would be so kind as to move our reservation forward an hour and let us eat now instead. The lady beamed at me “bien sur ! Suivez-moi !” and we were taken upstairs, met by Chip n’ Dale who took a very happy Nan in their arms and walked her to a window seat!

DSCN6140.jpg

DSCN6141.jpg

There were no more than 6 tables of people in the restaurant and it was absolutely perfect! Before we even had a chance to go through the menu with Nan, the Main Mouse himself came rushing over to greet us!

DSCN6144.jpg

DSCN6145.jpg

I have to say, Mickey was absolutely fantastic! He was in full character and really made a big fuss of my Nan. He spent a good 10 minutes with us, reading the menu – cuddling us all – and I managed to capture the most beautiful moment of the trip...

DSCN6147.jpg

As Mickey departed, we all made our choices and ordered. I went for the Pluto Steak (sorry Lisa, I will have the pizza another time), Nan ordered Chip n’ Dales Fish and Chips and Mum went for the burger.

Friar Tuck came over to say hello to a very smiley Nan at this point (who was loving sitting and watching the characters interact with the guests) before Mum got a touch of hot flush (the cancer treatment she is on causes her to burn up and have a moment quite frequently, so we’re always pretty well prepared). Mickey was walking by and he noticed I pointed a camera his way and stopped to pose for an absolutely fantastic photo for me!

DSCN6155.jpg

Once I’d taken the photo, he noticed how hot my Mum was looking and didn’t hesitate at all... he took hold of a menu and ran over and began fanning Mum until she cooled down. It was such a lovely gesture and Mum couldn’t stop laughing throughout! (yes, of course I took a photo of this)...

DSCN6156.jpg

Sure enough, our dinner soon arrived along with Mr. Smee (who Nan seemed a bit confused about) and then she had a tap on her shoulder and as she turned Captain Hook bowed to her, took her hand and kissed it (which I thought was so lovely).

DSCN6163.jpg

DSCN6165.jpg

No complaints with our dinners at all. In fact, when Nan’s fish and chips arrived her mouth dropped and she said “is all of this just for me?!” The service was brilliant and we had the most friendly, attentive and fun waitress you could wish for! You could see that she wasn’t entirely confident speaking English, and she spoke to me in French (I speak French anyways), but she made such a huge effort to speak English to my Nan and Mum and try make a few jokes with them. She was adorable!

DSCN6158.jpg

Throughout the meal we were also visited by Pinocchio, Gepetto and Sherriff of Nottingham and we left the restaurant barely able to move! I will own up, I had the chocolate soufflé too, which could have something to do with why I was so full-up!

DSCN6166.jpg

After such a big meal there is only one decent thing to do... have a gentle stroll down to the Disneyland Hotel of course! Nan did not know where to look first as we stepped inside the Pink Palace. She took a deep breath of that delicious scent and marvelled at the lobby. We made our way up the grand staircase and along to Café Fantasia where I ordered us a Ponchielli and Nan said to me “oh Adam, this is the most beautiful and luxurious place I have ever seen in my life!” and I had the great privilege of replying “well Nan, tomorrow night you’re staying here! So make yourself comfortable old girl!” Immediately Nan got on her mobile and phoned my Grandad to tell her all she had seen and done today and where she was currently sipping on a cocktail.

DSCN6194.jpg

After we had completely relaxed in our fine surroundings, I took my Nan on a tour of the hotel and we all had a slow walk back through the Disney Village on our way to visit Newport Bay. En route we noticed that the Panoramagique was taking passengers. We had all been on hot air balloons in England a few times, but couldn’t wait to try out the Panoramagique for that stunning view across the resort.

DSCN6204.jpg

DSCN6213.jpg

We were not disappointed! I was snapping away taking as many photos as I could manage and I looked to my left and saw Nan and Mum pointing out at the castle, the Disneyland Hotel , the station and Nan said “I never realised how BIG the place would be!”.

DSCN6219.jpg

After our flight, we had a quick walk through Newport Bay Hotel just so that Nan could say she had seen ALL of the hotels in the resort, and then we made our way back to Sequoia Lodge where we retired for the night. Nan became engrossed with That’s So Raven so none of us were able to sleep until it had finished!

Day 2 – Sunday 10th July 2011

This morning we woke up at 6:30am to be washed, dressed and ready for our breakfast at 7:20. We said ‘goodbye’ to our room at Sequoia Lodge but Nan just couldn’t wait to check-in at the Disneyland Hotel and see her room for the first time. She was like an excited schoolgirl!

I warned my Mum and Nan that today we would just be having a simple continental breakfast in the hotel and that it would be pretty basic. How wrong was I! There were no ‘hot items’ but there was MORE than enough breakfast items, even fruits, meats and cheeses! There was absolutely everything that you could wish for and we all enjoyed our breakfast, but kept in mind that we had a midday reservation for Auberge de Cendrillon.

The day was looking a bit cloudy but it was still warm, and we wheeled our luggage towards the Disneyland Hotel with smiles on our faces alongside many “ouch’s” from my poor Mum. I checked in at 8:15am knowing full-well that our room would not be ready, but we needed our park passes. The lady was extremely helpful and we were given VIP Fastpasses and the lady smiled and said “you will find out where you room is when you return later today”. We all started getting excited and then made our way into the Disneyland Park.

The cheerful music filled the air as we stepped onto a relatively quiet Main Street USA and we stopped at the bandstand to take photos in front of the castle.

DSCN6269.jpg

As we got much closer to the castle and Nan could see it far clearer – her face just shone. This picture really captures her witnessing the magic and I will treasure this moment for a lifetime...

DSCN6275.jpg

DSCN6281.jpg

We then paused so we could take a couple of pictures of the castle and then walked Nan through it so she could have a look around the inside too. After coming out into Fantasyland we had to get the obligatory photo of Nan attempting to pull out the sword from the stone before heading to our first ride of the day (and Nan’s first ever ride at Disney), Peter Pan’s Flight.

Nan really enjoyed Peter Pan’s Flight and I told her that she can use her VIP Fastpass later in the day when the park gets busy and re-ride it. Nan said “the park looks empty, we may not need to use this pass” (so innocent, yet so wrong). We then spotted that it was a walk-on for Dumbo and none of us had ever been on this before so on we went!

DSCN6293.jpg

Fantasyland was near-empty and we were literally the only people around for some of the time! It was fabulous having the area to ourselves, but it did feel a little eerie!

DSCN6296.jpg

Mum was desperate to ride Buzz Lightyear’s Laser Blast and so we made that our next ride. Nan’s 4 year old great-grandson (my Godson) is Buzz Lightyear MAD and Nan loved that she was on a ride that she knew he absolutely adored (he often would tell Nan about it after he had been to DLP). Nan got really into shooting the aliens but cherished that she was now able to relate with her Great-Grandson when he talks about Disney in the future.

DSCN6302.jpg

For those curious, the final scores were. Nan : 5,400. Mum : 35,300. Me : 149,600. Don’t mess with me when I’m armed with a laser!

It was now 9:30 and we saw a horse-drawn carriage stop by the Castle and thought it would be lovely to ride this down Main Street. We then got off in front of the Disney Railroad where Mum asked if she could take a ride on the train as she hadn’t done this in years.

Nan was stunned with the amount of land there was in the park and loved picking out all of the little details as we rode along. We got the train to Fantasyland and then walked straight onto Pirates of the Caribbean as Nan is a great fan of the movies. This ride never disappoints! Nan was impressed with how long you get on each ride too.

We made a slow walk through Adventureland and into Frontierland to take Nan onto Phantom Manor. En route I bumped into a wonderful Mr. Smee whilst Mum and Nan popped into the little girl’s room. I tried to take a photo of us two by myself but it never worked too well, Mr. Smee then took my hand and we found a Cast Member to take photos for us!

DSCN6325.jpg

He gave me a hug and I met back up with Nan and Mum and into the Manor we crept. I shared a doombuggy with Nan and she was continuously pointing out the ghosts and animatronics to me. I was feeling pretty impressed by this point as it was only 11:30 and we had done all of the rides that were on the itinerary for Nan to do (barring IASW).

We gently made our way towards Fantasyland for our midday reservations at Auberge de Cendrillon and managed to catch the Dance Express along the way. We were the first people to step into l’Auberge today and was taking to our seats by Perla on the table next to the fireplace in the ballroom.

DSCN6351.jpg

We enjoyed our meal and Nan was made a fuss of by all of the characters once again. We met Perla, Suzy, Belle and Prince Adam, Cinderella and Snow White. Mum and I were a bit disappointed as the atmosphere just wasn’t there this time around. Also, the Prince and Princess didn’t do a dance which we had come to expect. I felt a little disheartened by this as I know Nan would have loved to have seen this.

DSCN6359.jpg

After our meal we visited the Dragon under the Castle where my Nan was laughing as she could imagine her Great-Grandson being terrified of this (evil lady!) and then headed back into Frontierland to catch the Tarzan Show (which I have been desperate to see).

The show was everything I dreamed it would be and so much more. Nan (and even Mum) had the biggest grins on their faces imaginable throughout. Mum had pre-warned us that she may have to leave during the show as when she sits down her prolapsed disc REALLY causes her to be in agony. However, even through excruciating pain – Mum couldn’t leave as she was enjoying the show too much. The show was mainly acrobatics along to the music from the Tarzan movie and it played out the entire story. It was extremely cleverly done and the costumes were fantastic (especially Tarzan’s lol). Nan declared the show to be “breathtaking” and “the best dancing” she had ever seen in her life. She said to me “Oh Adam, I can honestly tell you I did not expect to see a show of that standard. It was wonderful!”.

DSCN6418.jpg

Mum almost collapsed as she tried to stand after the show and both Nan and I assisted Mum along the park deciding it was probably a good time to check-in to our room at the Disneyland Hotel and get Mum away from the quick-building crowds (it was 2:45pm).

When we reached front desk to check-in, the lady told us we would be spending the night in Castle Club with the hotels’ compliments and that our room was ready and waiting for us.

DSCN6421.jpg

Into the magical elevator we walked and out we stepped into the wonderful Castle Club floor. We had a beautiful room and Nan’s face was certainly a picture when she saw it! We took plenty of photos and I don’t think Nan stopped smiling from this moment on. We showed Nan around the Castle Club and took her into the Lounge, but decided we would make the most of the little time we have in Disney and make our way to Disney Studios.

DSCN6426.jpg

DSCN6499.jpg

It was 3:40pm when we first stepped through the Disney Studios gates. I’m not quite sure if Nan understood the park entirely but she was still just happy to be in Disney. We took her onto the Studio Tram Tour and this is something she hasn’t stopped talking about since! Catastrophe Canyon was her favourite part of the tour and she asked if we could revisit the ride before we leave tomorrow.

DSCN6450.jpg

Mum was in more pain from sitting down for that length of time again and we were all feeling a bit peckish. I saw that it was 4:45pm and suggested we come back to the Studios again and see it properly tomorrow, but we could go and have afternoon tea in the Castle Club Lounge and Mum could rest in the more finer surroundings.

DSCN6502.jpg

DSCN6504.jpg

Smoked salmon sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit salad, pastries of all sorts, rice puddings, brioche, cakes and savouries were awaiting us in the Castle Club Lounge. We managed to get the table in the centre looking straight down towards the castle too. Mum and Nan enjoyed a few pots of tea and I alternated between coffee and hot chocolate. The seats were extremely comfortable and were less pressure on Mum’s back which meant she was able to get a brief moment of comfort.

At 5:30pm we popped back to our room (which was just across the hallway from the lounge) to collect our jackets as we planned on staying in the Disneyland Park for the rest of the evening for the fireworks. The first thing Nan noticed was the bottle of Champagne sitting in a bucket of ice waiting for us. She couldn’t stop laughing and was so touched by this, before turning and saying “Adam, I don’t like Champagne? You’re going to have to drink all of this you know boy!” to which Mum interrupted “excuse me?! I will be helping Adam with that too!” Nan replied “But you’re on medication!” And Mum said “the pain I am in right now, it’s kill or cure – and I can’t think of a better way for me to go!”

DSCN6529.jpg

We left the Champagne in our room to chill for when we returned later this evening and revisited the park – first stop, It’s A Small World!

It’s A Small World was my Nan’s favourite ride in the entire resort. She was humming away to the tune whilst smiling at all of the dolls. Her exact words “oh Adam, isn’t it all so beautiful!”

DSCN6559.jpg

We then caught part of the “Following the Leader show with Peter Pan” before making our way to get a spot for the Once Upon A Dream Parade (which Nan has been looking forward to seeing since she first found out she was going to Disney)!

The parade certainly did not disappoint my Nan. I love the scents that the floats emit and the show-stops are brilliant fun. The children quite clearly love being able to run out and take part in the parade. Wonderful idea! Nan spotted the acrobat on the Pinocchio float and said “Adam, look! She reminds me of the Tarzan show!” and then began to frantically wave. I have to admit that I had to wipe a tear away from my eye during the parade. My Nan was living a dream she thought would never come true, and I was there to share it with her. Three generations of us standing together all enjoying the magic of Disney – it was simply the most humbling experience I’ve ever felt.

The parade ended at 7:45pm and we knew that we should eat something for dinner as it was going to be a long evening ahead with the shows / parades / fireworks. Nobody could agree on food as we were just peckish but not wanting a full meal. We wandered aimlessly through the park until I spotted Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost, which I explained to Mum has always been a favourite among the DISboard.

After our wonderful trip in March, whenever I mention that something is popular with the DISboard – Mum agrees that it is worth doing! Once again, we were not disappointed! Firstly, I loved the decor inside here. You really do feel like you’re in the jungle! But price-wise this was also a hidden gem! €12.99 for a salad, pizza, dessert and drink! We shared the pizza, Nan enjoyed the salad and Mum had the tiramisu for afters. It was just the right amount of food we wanted to keep ourselves fuelled.

We made our way back to Main Street USA and watched the Mickey’s Magical Moments Show in front of the Castle. I agree with comments on the board – it felt like such a random show. Nan didn’t understand any of it but I could see she was just happy looking at all of the costumes and colours. The only segment my Nan enjoyed was the Princesses dancing with the Princes. I personally loved this segment the most too.

DSCN6740.jpg

After the show ended we got a seat at Plaza Gardens and were able to sit at a table right at the front and watch the Fantillusion Parade. Mum’s pain had briefly eased and she was able to enjoy the parade for a short period of time before the pain reappeared. We all loved Fantillusion and Nan declared this the best parade she had ever seen. Mum and I always did giggle when Nan would watch a show or parade and then turn to give us her verdict.

DSCN6759.jpg

We then made our way to the centre of Main Street USA and had a fabulous view of the Castle ready for the fireworks. The three of us stood side-by-side as we all watched, what can only be described as, pure magic. This was the moment I had been waiting for and this was the reason for this trip. Witnessing the fireworks soaring over Sleeping Beauty’s Castle had been something Nan had dreamed of seeing for so many years, and now – she’s seen it! I could hear her gasp in awe throughout the display and I couldn’t help but watch her as she lived her dreams.

DSCN6856.jpg

DSCN6864.jpg

We made our way back to our room, via the Castle Club Elevator, and got ready for bed. Then we realised, we still had Champagne on ice! I don’t want to give out the wrong impressions... but I can disclose that it didn’t last long at all... and it certainly never saw daylight!

DSCN6866.jpg

Day 3 – Monday 11th July 2011

Today we say goodbye to the magic.

We woke up at 8:30 this morning (which is a lay-in by Disney standards) and took our time getting ready and listening to Nan tell us how she has had the best night sleep of her life. We completed packed away everything and left our cases at the foot of our beds (in Castle Club, your cases are collected from your room during the day and taken down to the luggage hold at reception for you) before making our way to breakfast in the Castle Club Lounge.

En route to breakfast we spotted Tigger hopping in and out of the Castle Club Elevator playing with the sensors of the elevator. When he noticed us watching him he held his head in embarrassment and bounced over to pose for photos and gave us all a huge hug. We then got a “good morning wave” from Chip and Dale who were both standing at the doors of the lounge and sat ourselves down for breakfast.

DSCN6925.jpg

Breakfast consists of everything from continental to hot food (pancakes, potato fried rounds, sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon etc. We sat and devoured our breakfast alongside a coffee and gazed silently out at the Castle. The quietness was soon disturbed (in a good way) as Pluto came over to say hello to us!

DSCN6935.jpg

Nan loved watching Pluto and seemed rather excited to meet him. The poor dog did cause a big of mayhem in the Castle Club Lounge however when he turned around and his tale took down an entire tables worth of plates, dishes, cups, jams and cutlery which all smashed on the floor. It was amusing as milk from the cereal he had just knocked over was now clinging onto his tushy. The guests found it all rather amusing but one of the workers was NOT impressed and promptly removed Pluto from the lounge – he was definitely in for some serious scorning! The poor thing.

After breakfast we headed into Disney Studios so Nan could get a better feel for the park (I still don’t think she got it). The man at the gates was extremely perky and was talking to everybody who walked in. When my Nan gave him her pass ticket to put in the turnstile for her he shouted “everybody, this is my girlfriend!” and made a big fuss of her. Nan was laughing away and in her element. We then went for our first ride of the day, as promised to Nan, which was the Studio Tram Tour. Again, she absolutely loved the effects of this.

DSCN6944.jpg

DSCN6945.jpg

DSCN6973.jpg

The sun was shining brilliantly and it was quite a scorcher. We sought shade and visited the Animation Gallery where we all enjoyed looking at how the characters were created through the progress maps and statues. We then played with both the sound and voice recorders. You are all now looking at the new improved voice for both Simba and Scar (I don’t mean to brag). LOL.

DSCN6998.jpg

DSCN7009.jpg

Hit Daddies Band were playing on the stage at the ‘Place des Stars’ so we stood and watched them play some wonderful tunes from before going inside Cinémagique. We got a brilliant seat at Cinémagique near the front and this is a firm favourite in my family. Nan loved all of the effects too. If you haven’t seen this, then go!! It really is unmissable!

In the “show mood” we then headed to Animagique so Nan could get to see a character-based Disney show. She really enjoyed all of the colours and music and loved that there were audience-based elements too.

We took a walk around the Disney Studios and I walked Nan through Toy Story Playland. The queues were all building rapidly and at 1:15pm we said our Goodbye’s to the Studios and walked into the gates of the Disneyland Park for the final time.

DSCN6993.jpg

It was burning hot by this time and the queues were insane. It wasn’t fair on Mum to stand in queues to ride things purely for the sake of doing so and we decided that we would have a walk through the park so Nan could experience it all uninterrupted and then we made our final ride of the trip, It’s A Small World, as we knew the queues moved quickly. Nan was in her element as we were seated at the front of the boat and she could ride her favourite ride of the resort for another time.

DSCN7047.jpg

We took photos, had a last glance of the Castle and said our goodbyes. It was far too crowded to risk Mum’s health. We agreed that we would spend our final few hours in the Castle Club Lounge enjoying tea and soaking up the ambiance.

DSCN7055.jpg

We stopped to do some shopping whilst in the Disneyland Hotel and I bought another Disney Traditions ornament for my collection (Lady and the Tramp – “A Moonlit Romance”) before we enjoyed our final afternoon tea in the lounge and filling ourselves up ready for the journey home.

DSCN7099.jpg

DSCN7103.jpg

When the time came for us to leave, we were all sad (some in pain) but all felt so glad we had made this trip together. It was a perfect weekend and it just proves that you really are only as old as you feel inside. For Nan, it truly was magical.

I just read the whole thing - congrats, youve got me welled up AGAIN!
Thank you for doing your trippie in amongst so much else going on, I know it might have had something to do with me harassing you.
The trip sounds even better than I thought, your Nan looks SOOOOO happy and full of wonder :goodvibes no wonder she likes the photos of herself, how could she look "old" when she was obviously feeling so childlike?
Your mum is an absolute trooper and I'm full of admiration at her doing so much whilst in so much pain.
Thank you for so much detail, humour and lovely photos, you remain my trip report hero :rotfl:
I'm gonna read it again.... xx

Lisa I was TERRIFIED not to get this completed!! I was frightened as to what your next txt might say! :rotfl2:
I am glad you enjoyed it - you may bow down to your hero now :rotfl: !
I kept thinking that there wouldn't be enough time to cover half of the resort - especially after Mum's condition - but I am so glad we got as much done as we did! :cutie:

Fantastic TR again Adam. Your pics are just lovely. ::yes:: :goodvibes

Thank you!!!! This must be the first time I've come back from Disney with hardly any photos with me in them :rotfl:

What a wonderful trip.
I've been awaiting your TR & it's not disappointed. It's made me over emotional & weepy.

Hope your Mum is feeling a lot better now.:)

Bless you! I am glad it didn't disappoint! I just want to get back into the magic now! :cutie:

What a fantastic report. :goodvibes I love all of your photos and the one of your Nan kissing Mickey's nose is adorable!
It sounds like you had an amazing time and I'm glad that the trip got to happen and it was as magical as you had hoped it would be.

Awww thank youuuu!! :goodvibes
The photo of Nan and Mickey is my absolute favourite!! It was even MORE magical than what I hoped! :wizard:

Great report :thumbsup2 Lucky you being upgraded to Castle Club. You all look like you had a fantastic time. Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

You're so welcome! It was absolutely perfect from start to finish! :cloud9:

I've really enjoyed reading your report (cheered me up on a boring Monday morning at work lol), great pics too. You've made such wonderful memories for all of you, something you'll all treasure for a very long time.

Bless your heart!! Every Monday morning needs a bit of Disney to brighten it up eh! :lovestruc
The trip couldn't have been timed more perfectly what with Nan's operation etc... they really will be photos to treasure. :cutie:

What another wonderful TR that once again had me welling up with emotion!!! :cloud9:

I am so pleased that your Nan was well and truly caught up in the magic - and well done to your Mum for keeping going!!!! :goodvibes It really made me want to take my Nan but not sure she'd cope as well as she's 89 now.

How long till you go back...???!!!!! :lmao:

Bless your heart sweetie!!
We all had the best time imagineable and Nan continues to talk about the trip now! Apparently whilst in hospital she was telling the nurses about her favourite rides (Studio Tram Tour and It's A Small World) and how magical the fireworks and Fantillusion were and how fabulous the shows were. It was a dream come true for her princess:
Luv, one thing I have learnt from this trip is that you're NEVER too old! The Cast Members are absolutely amazing with guests of age and limited abilities - Mum could barely walk 1mph and everyone had all the time in the world for her. The Eurostar makes it that much easier too, travel-wise...

I go back in 28 days!!!! Not that I'm counting....

Hi,Adam, greetings from Brasil !! Awesome trip report !!!! Your Nan looks really happy :lovestruc and I bet you have some wonderful memories to cherish...You are the best!!!:worship: Tania
