Name your top 10 items to bring on drive to WDW

To the park itself....a lot of drinks....the weather there will require it haha....make sure you pack an umbrella as well as its always raining.

We cross the border at Lansdowne, so most of our drive is on I 95. An absolute must is the Drive I 95 book by the Posner husband and wife team. I am waiting patiently for the new edition to be available in Canada. The other item, we wouldn't be without is our US cellphone. I bought a Net 10 phone years ago at a US Walmart and just re-activate it and top up the minutes each year for the drive to Florida. It also gets used during our stay and during DH's golf trips during the year. We don't tend to make advance hotel reservations on the way down, but use the Green hotel coupon books we pick up at the rest stops. Having the US phone makes it so easy to phone the hotels and see if they are still accepting the coupons! We also tend to pack a cooler, stop at a US grocery store for staples ( buns, cold meat, cheese etc ) and stop when WE want to at state rest stops. The washrooms are so much cleaner and even if it is raining or snowing, there are always places to sit down and share a picnic. Saves us so much time then stopping at FF places off the highway and we eat healthier too! Another vote for Sirius Radio here! We love our lifetime subscription! We also pack small overnight dufflebags to take into the hotel. Saves moving all our belongings into the hotel room as we always stay in hotels where we can park outside our room.

Do you have a link to this? The book was actually printed out of Montreal, and the authors are Canadian I believe, but I haven't seen it in years and thought it had gone out of print. Haven't been able to find any links to it on the internet anymore.

The last copy I saw was at a flea market in South Carolina this past March. It was about 6 years out of date :(

This is the Amazon.ca link. You can request an email alert when it is in stock.

The Posner's still have their own website which you can order directly from but I am trying to avoid paying duty.

This is the 6th edition which is the newest one and was published in August of 2013. I really wish I would have ordered it from Books-a-Million in Florida last year. My old copy is falling apart, we have used it so much!

Thanks for the info. I don't think you'll pay duty on a shipment. According to the website, they are still in Roxboro/DDO a suburb of Montreal.

Edit:

And now a double thank you!

I put a watch on Amazon.ca for this, and it was available this weekend. The latest edition is on it's way!

I don't know if this has been said yet but eye masks and ear plugs for sleeping. My plan is also to bring a couple of thermoses (sp?) so when I do stop for caffeine I can get two tea's and just put one in the thermos for a bit later so we don't have to stop as often. Don't forget money for tolls, there are lots on the way down and back. We are also going to be putting some favorite shows or movies on our ipads to watch. But you can also put some books and games on there if you have one. This isn't stuff to pack in the car but things I am doing before we leave: call credit card company and let them know about your trip so they don't freeze it for weird charges, check the tire pressure to make sure we are getting the best gas mileage, and also give the car an oil change before leaving and probably one after we get home too.

Glad to help out!

Just ordered mine as well! :yay: Looks like the Disers are keeping Amazon busy, as they were down to 2 left when I placed my order this am!

New I-95 Guide.....check! :woohoo:
