Name the funniest and least funniest SNL cast member ever

Funniest: John Belushi

Least funniest: Melanie Hutsell

Funniest....Phil Hartman

Least Funniest...all of the present day cast

in between....Will Farrell.....he has his moments but so much of his humor is "stupid" humor, where he just really over does it.

Funniest: Phil Hartman, Will Ferrel, Cheri Oteri, Eddie Murphy

Not funny, ever: Tracy Morgan. I never laughed at one thing he did.

Funniest for me was Chris Farley, followed by Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Eddie Murphy. I'd put Will Ferrell in there but I just can't because of the cheerleader stuff - I can't stand that.

Least Funny was Chevy Chase.

Farley as Matt Foley ("livin in a van down by the river" guy) was great.

Phil Hartman did so many great impressions, but the funniest thing he did was the Soviet weightlifter, whose arms ripped off.

Also Gene the Anal Retentive Carpenter, Sinatra, and Ed McMahon ("You are correct sir").

Too bad Eddie Murphy lost it....

I liked Will Ferrell's "Harry Carry" impersonation, but of course, there's Will Ferrell's "cowbell" sketch:

"Cowbell, I gotta have more cowbell."
(Christopher Walken as record producer in SNL skit with Wil Ferrell) :lmao:

agnes!

Really like: Phil Hartman, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd (Cone Heads!!), Dana Carvey (Church Lady!!)

Don't really like: Anyone who's been on lately

I'm old school SNL!! :teeth:

And as guest hosts go, Christopher Walken is among the greats, along with Steve Martin.

I despise Alec Baldwin, but his sketch as a high school French teacher, with Chris Farley and Adam Sandler in the class, is among my favorites.

Hmmm...so many cast members.

My favorites: Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg (current cast), Jimmy Fallon (his Barry Gibb show skit was the best ever!!), Chris Rock, Mike Meyers, Chris Farley/David Spade, and Fred Armisan

Best Guest hosts: Jim Carrey, Dane Cook, Kevin Spacey, Justin Timberlake, and of course (the lord of the cow bell) Christopher Walken.

Best skit ever: The Barry Gibb Talk Show, The Cow-Bell Skit, Jim Carrey as a Spartan Cheerleader, Jim Carrey as the hot-tub "life-guard", Dane Cook's Wool Sweater

Best recurring character: Spartan Cheerleaders, Chris Farley's "Van-down-by-the-river" Motivational Speaker Guy, The Falconer, Fred Armisan as "Prince", Debbie Downer, Carol, The Target Cashier Lady, Mr. Robinson, and Belushi's "Samurai", The Chicago Bear's Fans

Least favorites: Tim Kazurinsky, Charles Rocket, Dennis Miller, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Finesse Mitchell, most of the women actors...they just aren't funny.

Growing on me: Kristen Wiig, Seth Meyers, Kenan Thompson

One of the funniest things I ever heard Alec Baldwin say (aside from describing his "Schweaty Weiner", was telling Ben Afleck that He (Alec Baldwin) and Goodman (meaning John Goodman) were "circling the building every 5 minutes...so you'd better not screw up!" during Aflecks' opening monologue.

I believe they were his Schweaty balls!!:rotfl2:

There were two "Pete Schweaty" skits. The first were his Schweaty Christmas Balls, then he did one with hotdogs called Schweaty Weiners.

Ahh.

I missed the weiner skit. I'll have to try and find that one.

Funniest: Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey

Worst: Jimmy Fallon. Laugh at your own jokes much? He is worse than Adam Sandler at keeping a straight face!

OMG!!! That is my favorite skit EVER!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've only watched the last 5-7 years, so I don't know many of the old school skits. I did like Molly Shannon, Phil Hartman, Cheri O'Teri, Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon and I'm sure some more that I'm forgetting.

I just LOVE Rachel Dratch, Amy Pohler, Tina Fey, Kenan Thompson, Maya Rudolph and Horatio Sans (I think that's his name). I still record every week just so I don't miss out on any good ones.

Didn't you see the skit where he played a synchronized swimmer? He and his brother (not sure who that actor was) were trying to get men's synchronized swimming into the olympics. But they were having difficulty because for one thing "Lawrence couldn't swim" (MS character). They showed him swimming/dancing with a nose plug on. :rotfl:

I think Harry Shearer was the other actor who was his brother and Christopher Guest was their choreographer. I loved that skit!

I also remember Martin Short acting as Katherine Hepburn's cousin, the hotdog vendor on the skit 'Lifestyles of Relatives of the Rich and Famous' :rotfl:

Funniest - Gilda Radner

Least - Al Franken. And he's still a jerk. ;)

Man , there are TOO many too name.. Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphey, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers...

I don't hit me anyone , but I never really liked Chris Farley.. :confused3

My fave skits were...

of course the "Blue Oyster Cult; behind the music " skit.. "Guess what??! I have a fever, and the only perscription....is more cowbell!!"

I loved Will Ferrell and Gina Gershen (sp?) as the out of touch middle school music/band directors singing pop hits.

The TOTALLY adult rated skit with Christopher Walken in the deep south as the Colonel... you ..know ... who ;) :rotfl:

The least is Al Franken. I cannot stand him.
