Went to England by myself at age 17, then again at 18 and 20.
"Blew" the horn on the Disney Wonder.
Held an Oscar the day after my friend won a few years ago. And yes, I DID do the "Hello, Gorgeous!" while our other friend did the "You LIKE me..." It was great to share in such joy and be silly.
Snorkeled off the shore of Catalina.
Swam in The Living Seas. With sharks.
Got married at Disneyland.
Lost 40 pounds and I have a long way to go. Go me!
Found Elvis' Honeymoon house in Palm Springs and took a picture. I'm not even a fan of Elvis.
I think the coolest thing I ever did was buy a strange piece of artwork. We were in Palm Springs (we go there a lot) and Danny Thomas' estate was just sold to a antique dealer we bought from often. He showed me this giant birthday card to Danny. It was one of 9. It was a cartoon of him on canvas in a movie-poster sized frame. It was huge. The thing is, it was autographed by every single person associated with all of his shows. It was from 1963. Mary Tyler Moore, Don Knotts, Ronny Howard, Carl Reiner, the list goes on. The dealer had no idea who the people were! I bought it for $100 and then told him to look a lot closer and we ID'ed the autographs for him from the other 8 left. I'm sure he raised the price after we left.
A year or so later, I find myself the manager of the studio where we are mixing The Bucket List. I ask Rob Reiner's assistant if Mr. Reiner would be interested to see it. They come over to my office and Rob just smiles and confirms that it was his dad's autograph. He asked me where I got it from, thinking I was a kid of one of the signers and I had to disappoint him that I wasn't TV royalty, just a working schmuck. We had a laugh and he asked me to take care of it, as he also ID'ed MORE people who signed the card.
