Name some things you have done

Went to England by myself at age 17, then again at 18 and 20.

"Blew" the horn on the Disney Wonder.

Held an Oscar the day after my friend won a few years ago. And yes, I DID do the "Hello, Gorgeous!" while our other friend did the "You LIKE me..." It was great to share in such joy and be silly.

Snorkeled off the shore of Catalina.

Swam in The Living Seas. With sharks.

Got married at Disneyland.

Lost 40 pounds and I have a long way to go. Go me!

Found Elvis' Honeymoon house in Palm Springs and took a picture. I'm not even a fan of Elvis.

I think the coolest thing I ever did was buy a strange piece of artwork. We were in Palm Springs (we go there a lot) and Danny Thomas' estate was just sold to a antique dealer we bought from often. He showed me this giant birthday card to Danny. It was one of 9. It was a cartoon of him on canvas in a movie-poster sized frame. It was huge. The thing is, it was autographed by every single person associated with all of his shows. It was from 1963. Mary Tyler Moore, Don Knotts, Ronny Howard, Carl Reiner, the list goes on. The dealer had no idea who the people were! I bought it for $100 and then told him to look a lot closer and we ID'ed the autographs for him from the other 8 left. I'm sure he raised the price after we left.

A year or so later, I find myself the manager of the studio where we are mixing The Bucket List. I ask Rob Reiner's assistant if Mr. Reiner would be interested to see it. They come over to my office and Rob just smiles and confirms that it was his dad's autograph. He asked me where I got it from, thinking I was a kid of one of the signers and I had to disappoint him that I wasn't TV royalty, just a working schmuck. We had a laugh and he asked me to take care of it, as he also ID'ed MORE people who signed the card.

This might be one of my all time favorite threads ever! I love reading everyone's lists! It makes me realize I've done a lot of cool things too, reading some of the lists and thinking "Oh yeah, I forgot I've done that too!" :goodvibes

Having kids, whichever way is a huge accomplishment...and weight loss and windmills and Russia and queens and princesses, the Blarney Stone, concerts,
kissing Scott Baio! All just so fun to read! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Oh, I agree! I LOVE reading what others have done. I started on the first page, then immediately tried to list mine. I didn't want to sound influenced as I saw that someone else also had a Disney Wedding and I wanted to list that for me.

So, I'm going back and reading now that I listed mine.

*Was on Romper Room when I was little (that should date me pretty well!)/QUOTE]

I always waited for Miss Louise to say she saw me in the mirror, and with such an unusual name for a girl back in the day, she never said it....:confused3 (Thanks Mom!):rotfl:

Went to India 2 years ago on a business trip. Very eye opening. We stayed in a beautiful hotel, had a car take us to the office. During the car ride we passed slums like you saw in Slumdog Millionaire. Kids begging in the street just like in the movie. Office was in a gated office park, beautiful glass buildings. The contrast was unforgettable.

i've been thinking about my list and so far have come up with...

• met a bunch of celebrities (NATPE convention use to come here when i was a kid and we'd stand outside for autographs. met oprah before we knew who she was! :rotfl:

• went to WDW every other summer as a kid. first trip at 2. my son was 9 months on his first trip.

• went to the rep. national convention in '88 in new orleans all because my dad stalked shirley temple and she gave us a weeks worth of tickets care of the CA party.

• evacuated for hurricanes gustav/ike when i was 8 months preggo driving 6 hours in the middle of the night.

• had chicken pox at 25...for my actual 25th birthday! yeah, i'm special!

• had my right ovary removed at 29 (dermoid tumor).

• had my gallbladder out at 31

• had my son via c-section at 32

• took my first out of the country vacation (cruise to mexico) on my honeymoon at 31.

• have worked at 3 different companies that shut their doors just months after being hired. been fired from a few different places

• lost my transmission at 8 am rush hour traffic outside of chattanooga on the way to baltimore. it was under warranty and took 5 hours to fix at the saturn dealership.

• have driven to baltimore (from new orleans) 6 times without stopping over night. 18 hour drive. we stop now.

• have followed the band goo goo dolls on quite a few trips and have seen them 15-20 times in the last 10 years. (best show was when they played the re-opening of the superdome after katrina):love::love:

• had a fighter jet escort our plane into vegas for NYE in '03 for an above mentioned concert.

• seen cher, bruce springsteen (doing the seeger sessions cd, not HIS stuff!), kenny chesney, barenaked ladies, kid rock, bon jovi, richard marxx, nelson, nsync, counting crows (a few times!), juanes (few times!), sugar ray (at eat to the beat in '10), rush (a few times!), faith hill and tim magraw and rascal flatts. going to add tom jones, cyndi lauper, john melloncamp, another bon jovi and kid rock show this year (all of them at jazz fest!).

• take 2 shots of enbrel a week for my psoriais/psoriatic arthritis. have fought the insurance company because they say it's too much, but i can't function if it's less medicine. i've won the fight for this year and will have the right dose all year.

Terceira? How long ago? I left there when I was 5, many moons ago.
I was there in May of 2007. It was beautiful. I had such a good time and really got to experience the local cuisine and atmosphere. Oh the food, yummy. Steak cooked on a lava rock!
I might go back sometime just to site see. Son and family are now stationed in frozen North Dakota. :scared1:

Was born in Hawaii a month before she became a state. My birth certificate states that I was born in a territory of the United States. Parasailed a Half Moon Cay and it was a blast. Met my husband on the Police Firing Range when I was taking a class on the safe use of firearms.

I got to shake President Bill Clintons hand.

Also met Faith Hill.

Guarded and played Basketball against Tony Delk, former Kentucky Wildcat and Boston Celtic.

Played basketball with former Sacremento King and Arkansas Razorback Corliss Williamson. (Actually threw him a alley oop pass!)

Hit a homerun off a former MLB pitcher. (okay so he only pitched in a couple games, but he still was in the bigs)

*Run a 5k - Just started training (ugh)
*Become a hugger - I'm typically a "touch me not" so this is taking a lot of effort. My friends find it a bit awkward but deep down I know they love it.
*Take DD to Europe

Ok, I am really boring, but:

Stayed in my house during a hurricane-DO NOT DO THIS-had a tree fall into the room I was in and lived to tell about it.

Lived on a island that many people have never heard about-Azores island chain off of Portugal.

Would this island be Terceira? I lived there when I was in Kindergarten and First Grade. My brother was born there.

I kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland (Yes you do lie on your back, upside down, about 200 ft in the air to do this!)
Rode a skate board down a steep hill when I was a teenager
Started taking dance lessons (ballet, tap, Jazz) when I was 30 and had my first dance solo at 37.
Took Irish step dancing lessons at 42
Got my belly button pierced at 45
Have traveled through all but 9 states
Snorkeled in Hanauma bay Hawaii
Saw Red Skelton in a restaurant when I was a teenager
Skated for 12 hours for a skate-a-thon
Saw the Beach Boys, America, Santana & Chevy Chase all at the same concert
Attended the US Festival in California in 1982 and 1983
Saw Berlin and Adam Ant in small venue concerts (at different times)

Now having read everyone's, I have more!

Flew over a volcano while it oozed lava. This was on a helicopter tour of the Big Island in 2009.

Slept in Volcano. (Not in a volcano.) ;)

Been to Club 33 in DL more times than I can count. (A friend is a member.) I'm really sad they changed the ladies' sitting room.

But, I don't own my own home and I've never been blessed with children.

It is so interesting to me how many people have said they are boring, then go on to say amazing things! I have never left the US except for Canada, but only cause I grew up in Michigan and now live in New York, before needing enhanced drivers liscense we would cut though to save driving time, don't even do that anymore. That is about it. You are all so intersting! Fun to read...

ETA- I'm not complaining, I love my life, just find it interesting how many people think they are boring but they really aren't at all. I guess we all live our day to day lives and don't think of them as interesting but to others they really are.

I have:

assisted God in the miracle of childbirth twice ;)

hit a semi truck broadside and lived to tell about it :scared1:

watched my 18 year old brother die of a brain anuerysm :sad1:

taken x-rays of the boy who received one of my brother's kidneys :upsidedow

written a book pixiedust:

shaken Lyndon Johnson's hand when he was president :cool2:

~~Sang onstage with my favorite singer (Voltaire... he pulled a few fans up to sing with him last time he came around. I idolize the man. I was so excited and DH kept pointing to me like "pick her... pick her it will make her LIFE" and he did. Words can't describe the awesome. I know most of you probably don't know who Voltaire is, but imagine your favorite singer and then imagine you get to stand next to them and sing along to their biggest hit. Yeah... it was like that.

~~Had my dream wedding without bending to anyone else's ideals. Since I was a strange little gothy child I always knew I wanted to get married on Halloween in a gothic castle and have a Day of the Dead themed cake and a wedding photoshoot in an old graveyard. I always knew I wanted to wear a white dress with a corset and carry black or blood red roses. I knew I wanted to wear something with a skull and cross bones on it. I knew my colors would be black and dark purple. Well, I did all of these things. So many of my friends (goth girls and non-goth girls alike) bend to everyone else's wishes over the stupidest things during their weddings. DH was on board with everything I wanted to do (he wore full tails and a top hat with a skull hat pin on it) and from that point we just said "to heck with everyone else" and had the wedding WE wanted and it was everything we hoped for. And all our wicked straight laced relatives and friends had fun and told us it was the coolest most unique wedding they ever went to.

~~Had my art displayed at my old office for several months.

~~Drunk a kungaloosh on the outside steps of the Adventurer's Club... last fall, long after the AC closed.

~~Got crushed by a display of a door at a hardware store when I was 2. And walked away with only a sprained leg.

~~Been in a plane that lost altitude fast, masks came down etc. and everyone was okay.

~~My brother and I have BOTH been hit by cars and walked away without injury.

Wow, you guys are so awesome - there are some amazing things on those lists. Here is mine..nothing very exciting:

*Born in Costa Rica

*Was bitten by a dog on my face when I was 17 (2 weeks before college orientation - ugh!)

*Met my husband online on a Catholic dating site - been married for 5 years and have a beautiful baby boy (c-sec)

*Was the Assistant to a former NFL player for 5 years (he's old, no one exciting but he is the dad of a very popular college quarterback)

*I was boss to a girl who had a role in the old show, Kids Incorporated, which explains a lot :scared1:

*I've sat with President Bush (41) at a soccer game, twice. I've also visited his office and gotten a personal tour from him. Barbara Bush took a picture of the two of us as well because we were "just too adorable". In 2006, I had a voicemail from him on my cell phone.

*Been in the audience to hear Gore & Kerry speak.

*I've sat on the Floor of the House

*Was at President Bush's inauguration in 2001

*Been to Disney World 19 times & Disneyland Paris once.

*Seen the ball drop in NYC - New Years 2001, I was 17

-Performed in the National FFA Band at National FFA convention for two years
-Made it into Orchestra, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble (the two highest ensembles for winds) as a Freshman
-Got to march on the EWU red field for the first game ever, (their school started later than ours, and it was part of our tour)
-Got to take pictures of the Disney Dream (pre-christening) when it was docked next to the NCL cruise we were on earlier this month
-Have stayed in a 3 bedroom Grand Villa at Bay Lake Tower, and got to watch the fireworks every night from our room
-Was the first person ever from our school to make the state geography bee
-Have been to National Conventions for Key Club, BPA (where I was competing), and FFA (in the band)
-Got to meet Bode Miller, Ted Ligity, and other USA Ski team racers when we were able to take their bibs from them at Birds of Prey in Colorado a few years ago
-Made the Dean's list my first semester of college

I've had 3 kids with no pain meds. Till this day I don't know why.

I've spent 3 months in the jungle in Ecuador.

That's about it. Maybe I need some more excitement in my life:idea:
