Name some things you have done

I like this thread. I have:

- Lived on an Indian Reservation
- Gone from West to East Germany while the Berlin Wall was still up
- Seen the World Trade Center while it was still burning two days after 9/11

I had a great aunt who was a professional bridge player. She would travel all around the world entering into tournaments and me and my cousins both tagged along. I have one of the old fashion leather suitcases covered in items from around the globe.

Lived the civil rights movement as a young girl. My mom was a attorney and would drag my siblings and I down to Memphis Tenns. and New Orleans to register Blacks to vote. Had no idea I was part of a movement that changed the course of history. :lmao: All I knew was I was hot all summer long.

Hmm...I did get out of an unhappy marriage (with 2 beautiful kids in tow) and move in with my parents. I had been a SAHM, so I went back to college full-time. I met a nice man, and we eventually got married. I then graduated (with honors) this past December. This life change took place in a relatively short amount of time. I moved in with my parents during the summer of my 30th birthday and will turn 35 this year. I just can't believe how different my life is and am very proud of myself for turning things around.

Gave birth to my daughter while standing in the bathroom doorway at home (FAST labor--didn't even have time to get into the car to have had her in route to the hospital like a semi normal person!)

Lived in two foriegn countries (and 9 US states)

every person I ever dated (and 2 I didn't) propsed to me. My husband thinks this is hilarious and some sort of twisted accomplishment:rotfl2:

Placed first in state on the Spanish National Exam

Climbed (hiked) the tallest peak in Germany (Zugpsitze)

Saw Pope John Paul perform an Easter Mass

I guess those are the most unusual. I've visted lots of places (and plan to visit many more). I try to keep and active and varied life. It SHOULD be an adventure as far as I am concerned.

My life sucks.

So maybe you're not eating snake (now I know you wouldn't be) or other creatures, but you live in one of the most beautiful states in our country!! Your whole state is on my bucket list!:)
...and I know you are an awesome wife, mother and friend!

I'm sure there's a lot more wonderful things you have done too. ;)

I've packed up house and moved 3 times... In 3 years.

I've walked on the wings of HUGE airliners. (During FA evacuations training) To ME, it was really neat!

I've watched Fourth of July fireworks from 35,000 feet from Michigan to Atlanta. THAT was NEAT.

I've watched the most beautiful blue sunrises and the most stunning red sunsets from the window of an airplane... On the same day... Many times. It's like waking up with Earth!

I visited Graceland by chance during Elvis Week. Truly a sight.

I can't think of any more...

I bet that was neat. We have a technology museum near here that has several differnt airplanes yo ucan go in. Many are up "flying" on big metal pillars. The 747 is about 3 stories up and you can walk out on the wing (but it, obviously, has gaurd rails built on it now). It is a cool--and freaky--feeling.

1. I was adopted and have found both sides of my biological family.
2. Acted in 2 haunted houses.
3. Gave birth to three 9+ lb babies, no c sections (#3 child was born AFTER I had a tubal :rotfl: Miracle baby!)
4. Broke my ankle and have a 3" plate and 6 screws in there (one came loose and I had to have it removed):scared1:
5. Graduated computer school at the age of 40 with a 97 avg. I was only the third student to graduate with the "President's Award" (and my Powerpoint presentation was used at school fairs to interest students in their school).
6. I survived a bout with meningitis.
7. I can drive a stickshift (did for 17 yrs).
8. Kissed Peter Steele.
9. Went down into an operation wet mine in the Geology Club in college.
10. Got bit by a llama while feedng it.
That's about all, some boring, some interesting!

I love this thread!!!!!

Mermaid02-Your life doesn't suck. Every one has there own adventures and events that happen.

Even the events that you think at the time are minuscule. They all add up to being a part of your life's history.

13. Spent time cruising in the Greek Isles and staying at a Club Med on the island of Corfu.

When I first read this I thought I had nothing to contribute, but reading others reminded me of some things of my own life.

My favorite thing that I have done, I met my DH in a very unusual way at the age of 15, he was 20. We got engaged when I was 16, married at 17, pregnant at 18 and and had our first DD when I was 19. This summer we will celebrate our 18th anniversary and we are happier then ever.

We met when he was my penpal during the Gulf War. I fell in love with him though letters before ever even seeing a photo of him.

Our first born daughter was 10 pounds 4 ounces and was born exactly 1 month after her due date. (She was a c-section as were her sisters.)

I too met a president, also at an Army wives event. I met Bill Clinton and shook his hand.

I saw NKOTB in concert a dozen times as a teenager including 4 times in one weekend. When I was 14 my grandparents took me to Boston (from Michigan) on vacation to see all their houses and go to their hangouts. We went to the pizza place they hung out and brought home an extra pizza that we let dry out and sprayed with a sealer and it is still in my grandparents attic in the box. :confused3

Speaking of concerts, I waited 20 years to see Bon Jovi, my DH took me to Cleveland this past summer to finally see them and it was amazing!!!

I was in Miss Teen Michigan in 1991.

DH and I moved ourselves (in a Uhaul) from Sierra Vista, AZ to Fort Drum, NY with 2 cats in the Uhaul with us. It was such a fun adventure.

I have been a Girl Scout leader for all 3 of my girls troops for the last 12 years, at one poing having all 3 troops at once.

Our first family vacation to Disney came when I won a trip to England and took the cash value instead. It was $1000 and DH said we could go anywhere cause it was found money. It was a shoestring trip but we had an amazing time.

My first time on a plane it was a 3 seater. Just me, my mom and the pilot. It was so exciting that after that I wanted to be a pilot. I became pen pals with a pilot who was in air shows (Holiday Inn flying team) and when they came back to town I got to be his special guest at the air show and got to go in their plane. Ironically, the lsat time I ws on a plane was June 30, 1993, 3 days after I got married. I flew to Arizona to move with my DH. We have never been able to afford to fly anywhere since, everywhere we go we drive.

I go out on a date, at least once, every single week with my DH. (I know this doesn't seem rare but so many of our friends go out like once every 6 months, so maybe it is more rare.)

Adopted a daughter. Raised 2 sons besides and we have a great relationship with all of them. DH and I have been together for 31 years and married for 29. These are my happiest accomplishments.

Met John Kennedy when I was 4.

Was a billboard model for Sunkist in the 70s.

Did some photography modeling then too.

Steven Tyler asked to meet me at a party after a concert Aerosmith played in New Orleans. He's sweet.

Was in the only student movie chosen to go into the Harvard Library in 1975.

Lived in Telluride before it became popular.

Spent my summers in Destin when there was just a 2 lane road and 1 motel. My great-great grandfather, Capt. Leonard Destin founded it.

Sewed a few of my ballgowns.

Kissed the Blarney Stone.

Went on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje right before the Bosnian War started.

Scored the highest ever in our area on a college entrance test.

Was asked to join Mensa.

Partied through the 70s and lived to tell about it!

There's other things but I'm too tired to think of them-probably still recuperating from the 70s.:lmao:
