Name some things you have done

This might be one of my all time favorite threads ever! I love reading everyone's lists! It makes me realize I've done a lot of cool things too, reading some of the lists and thinking "Oh yeah, I forgot I've done that too!" :goodvibes

Having kids, whichever way is a huge accomplishment...and weight loss and windmills and Russia and queens and princesses, the Blarney Stone, concerts,
kissing Scott Baio! All just so fun to read! :goodvibes:goodvibes

OK, here's mine:

-- Had a baby in the front seat of DH's car
-- Was on the local news & in 2 newspapers (for the baby)
-- Morley Saffer (from 60 Minutes) once cut me in line at the A & P
-- Got lost hiking in the White Mountains :scared1:
-- Drove across the country 3 times
-- Threw a snowball into the Grand Canyon
-- Went on a blind date and ended up getting married to him.

Was born in Spain.

..That is it. Excuse me, I am only 17 :rotfl:

This is fun

-Rubbed St. Peter's foot at the Vatican
-Saw Pope John Paul II give Mass
-Stayed in a bed and breakfast in Tuscany
-Moved over 22 times in my life (I'm only 37)
-Never went to the same elementary school for 2 years in a row
-Sat on Henry Winkler's lap
-Snuck onto the set of Little House on Prarie with my aunts when I was a kid
-Shot Johnathon Winters with a toy gun with suction cup bullets
-Use to get chocolates as a child from a very old movie star - Olive Fuller Golden (she was the mother of Harry Carey Jr)
-When I was 35, I no longer had any living grandparents, parents or siblings. :guilty:
-Drove cross country with my husband (then fiancee) when I was 21.

I have ridden a segway (probably not a big deal on this site due to WDW segway tours, but in Vermont it gets a lot of attention).

Served as an assistant to a recent presidential candidate.

I was in the pre-game show and played the national anthem at a Miami Dolphins playoff game during their undefeated season (vs.Steelers at the Orange Bowl - Dec 31, 1972).

Waited on Conway Twitty (he was not nice), Twisted Sister (crazy), Ted Nugent, Motley Crue, Night Ranger, Oak Ridge Boys, Johnny Cash... among others....when I worked at a truckstop off a major interstate in Florida. The tour buses would stop and most were fun, except for Conway.

-Had my appendix rupture and had to leave the incision open for a week (my stomach looked like a lobster tail).

-Had Paul and Morgan Hamm stand guard at an elevator(Hilton Anaheim)for us so we could get my daughter and all her stuff in. There were a ton of people there and they kept pushing us aside so the twins blocked the door when the next one came. :rotfl:

-Scuba Dived EPCOT livings Seas.

-Got to help Interview Ilia Kulik during a summer internship at a local news station. I was then given a press pass so I got to see the rest of the ice skaters preform while standing right next to the ice.

Loving this thread, OP. I agree it's one of the best on the DIS.

I'm surprised. He he's got a nice smiley face. I would've thought he was nice.
Goes to show, you never know.

Stayed in the hospital for 8-9 weeks (over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...) and had my colon removed.

Me too! It was my very first concert.

My hubby saw them too! I think he still has the CSNY ticket stub somewhere. It was in 1974 or something like that? He saw them in Tampa.

-Hit a pedestrian with my car (not my fault; she ran out in front of me)
-am a third generation Gold Award Girl Scout
-performed onstage with a stand up comedian

I feel very boring after trying to come up with some unique things about me.

I have really lived a pretty boring life, compared to most, but here's my short list. :)

I have:
- Worked for 3 years in an old-fashioned 2 room school with 2 teachers, one teacher's aide (me), 9 grades, approx. 30 students, no bus, no hot lunch, etc. I was often playground supervisor, office help, paper grader, nurse, counseller, secretary, Kindergarten teacher, janitor, etc. It was a lot of fun. :) I was sad when the school closed due to lack of revenue.
- Built 8 4-bedroom houses with 8 families in 10 months from the ground up with a Mutual Self-Help Housing Program. We finished fastest on record ever for our area, with no injuries, and we all still like eachother. :)
- Been married almost 18 years to a man I met when I was 11 years old, and have been best friends with for almost all of the 27 years since then. We dated lots of other people in our teen years, but we always were there for eachother when others were not.
- Driven back and forth across the country - Montana to Florida - by myself in a minivan with only a 5 year old and a turtle to keep me company twice in the space of 6 months. I wouldn't recommend it. :sad2:
- Played flute in the pit orchestras for productions of Annie and Hello Dolly. Don't remember a lot of Dolly, but still know every word of Annie by heart.
- Played flute for 10 years in high school and college. Played in Symphonic band, Marching band, Show band (big band style), Pit orchestra, and Pep band (basketball, etc). Competed in state competitions. Once competed in a marching band show with a broken pinky finger that I couldn't bend (somewhat hard to play a flute that way) because it had been shut in the band room door on the way down to the field.

Fun thread! :) Let's see...

-I was born in Alabama, moved to Florida, moved back up to Alabama, and then all the way across the country to Washington state.
-Have been married twice... and I'm not 30 yet.
-Had one kidney removed when I was 14.
-Also had my gallbladder removed.
-Met someone online... started dating... now we're married.
-Moved to Denmark!

see my other post below. sorry.

Ugh to the guinea pig. I almost jumped the curb on the other side of the street the first time I drove. I was also robbed while working solo, but thank God, no weapon involved.

This being hit by a car: that wasn't in Chapel Hill NC in the late 80s was it:rolleyes1
