Nail Polish Users

My nails are long and I keep them polished. In the past, I've used clorine bleach to remove the waxie build-up caused by the polish, but I'm now looking for an alternative, be it home made or over the counter I'm tired of smelling like a bottle of Clorox. Any hints?

Sorry, Kathy, I'm no help. I've worn nail polish all of about 10 times in my life -- and one of those was on my wedding day!

Bleach? I keep my nails painted, either a color or clear (Qtica) and I've never had to use bleach or noticed a build-up. What kind of polishes/removers do you use?

ChiTownZee, I use Sally Hanson, Hard as nails polish and Cutex remover.

What's the build-up like? Are you sure you need to use the bleach? Maybe just go over the nails again with some extra remover? I don't know LOL, I've never heard of this, anyone else? I use OPI or straight Qtica now, but even before I dont' remember buildup. ALTHOUGH, on my toes I don't use a base-coat and they do get stained.

I use polish all the time and have never noticed a waxy build up. Maybe it isn't the polish, but some type of household cleaner that you are using, like to wash the dishes or something. I am at a loss about this build-up thing though. I am sorry that I have no suggestions for you...

My mom swears by the effervescent denture cleaner. I rarely polish so I can't say for sure that it works.

I have never had a wax build up.How long does your polish last. I can't find any that will stay on longer than 1 day.I have tried using a base coat and top coat. any suggestions.
