N Redington Beach, FL to WDW?

two questions for you Tampa Bay area people...when is your normal morning rush hour mid-week (and how bad is it!)

We would be leaving a hotel on N Redington Beach around 8:00 a.m. on a Tuesday to drive to WDW (non holiday time)...is that a crazy time to try...should we leave later/earlier? And what's the real travel time from there to WDW?

It will take you about 90 minutes depending on traffic and if you drive over or under the speed limit. If you are morning people I would leave earlier or wait until 9.

thanks for the info...I think we probably will leave earlier - I know we'll get stuck in some work-day rush hour, but would rather get in on the beginning of it. Chances are we'll be up early anyway...we tend to wake up at normal "work day" times even when we're on vacation (need to take longer vacations to break those sleep cycles. I wish! )

You'll find that peak rush hour traffic will be between 6-8 am. From Pinellas County, you'll be taking I-275 through downtown Tampa to I-4. During this time you won't be driving at posted speed limit.

If you travel at that time traffic will be heavy through most of Tampa and a bit of I-4 until you to get around 50th St. Once you clear that point traffic should thin out and you will be able to get up to speed.

Assuming no other delays your trip should take you 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Did the drive from WDW to North Reddington Shores a couple of years ago. It took about 2 hours.
