:rotfl2: You will be wanting to skip town once it start! This place gets crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! WE usually like to stay out of the way. Get groceries and everything else before the race because wal-mart is crazy enough. LOL

What are the exact dates?? From what I gathered, it lasts all week and 2 weekends???

thanks!

I think the first race starts on the 20th (I may be wrong) But all the craziness starts days before that. The second race I think is the 27th.

AND going to the concord mills mall is something else. LOL It's right in the middle of it all.

Hey fellow NC DIS'ers!! This is so funny, as I was just bemoaning the fact that after living here for over 3 years, DH and I STILL have no friends...well at least none that aren't related to our horse farm.

My name is Marissa and DH and I moved here in March 2003 to buy a horse farm, which we now own and run as a boarding, lesson, training facility. We are in Mocksville, capital of Davie County! I LOVE it here. we lived on Long Island our whole lives and really enjoy the weather and people here. I DO miss good chinese, pizza and REAL deli food, but I LOVE BBQ! DH loves the sweet tea.

I'm 29 and DH is 32. We have no kids but we have 3 dogs (2 greyhounds and a lab/chow mutt), 4 horses (3 quarter horses and a belgian draft) and 4 barn cats.

I would totally go for a NC DIS meet. Dh and I just honeymooned in WDW in October. We've been together since 2000, but only got "hitched" last year. We are desperately trying to find a way to get back to WDW in December for DH's birthday.

Let's get together!

Hi Sarah, SCMinnie, chell, and everyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I grew up in Charlotte, left for a while, and have been back for almost a year. I love it here too. I'm hoping to join you Union Couty guys soon.......beautiful area with low taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! LOL I can imagine me trying to get them in that thing when they are like 10 years old. I think it will be even harder on me when they can't fit in it. :guilty:

I took lil'ace to preschool and the teacher showed me the caps they will be wearing for graduation and I wanted to cry. That day is going to be tough on me.

Im not up to pre-school graduation's yet, but I will be soon. I know when I had to take Katelyn to drop her off at daycare for the very 1st time (she was 7 months old) I took her an ran off around the block and told her "nobody is gonna raise you but me" and I cried for an hour when DH found me and took us to daycare then he took me out to breakfast and stuff to help keep my mind off of it all.
Katelyn will be starting pre-school when she turns 3 in Jan.

I am Lisa, I live in Elizabeth City and of course there isn't anyone in this thread from here, there never is. It doesn't matter what topic, message board or theme I am usually the only one!

I am 39 and closing in on 40 in about 6 weeks. That isn't bothering me one single bit. I am married and I have a 5 1.2 year old. We are Disney adicts (but of course) and I am also a crazed scrapper. I taught classes nationally until I had to take a break because of my little one.

I am misplaced from RI and have here for 12 years. Where did the time go?

Nice ta meet you all!

Good to see someone from the coast here too. :) There was someone else from Greenville. :wave2: I have been in New Bern for over 10 years now.

:wave2: Holy cow -I can't believe theres someone else thats in Indian Trail on here. I list Charlotte on my location because no one would know where IT is. Nice to meet ya.
Count me in as an Indian Trail (actually, Hemby Bridge, even smaller than I.T. :teeth: )girl, too! We have lived here for almost 6 years- moved from Columbus, OH. The city is slowly but surely coming to us- when we moved here, there were not even any pizza places that delivered! Now, we have lots of nice restaurants and shops- the new Wal Mart will open tomorrow!!

Hi to all you other NC DISers!

FUN! I have not read them all yet but will go back and do so. :)

I am Amanda and in Sanford. :)

I am 26.

So, now to see if anyone is near me. :goodvibes

Jennasis, I don't currently live in Mocksville, but I never imagined I would run into someone else with a Davie county connection on the DIS. DW and I used to live in Farmington (Mocksville address) from 1995-1999. I still think Davie county is one of the prettiest places I have lived. I hope you are enjoying life there.

Hey Zippa D Doodah! I go to Farmington quite often. My vet's office is on Farmington Road. You are right, Davie County is GORGEOUS. We are right in the center of it ali...2 hours to Asheville or Raleigh, 45 minutes to Charlotte or Greensboro, and about 15 minutes to Winston. It's great!

A fellow DISer needs help finding a restaurant in Charlotte this weekend. Can any of you make some suggestions?

Here is the thread.

Thanks!
