N.C. Disers

I am Lisa, I live in Elizabeth City and of course there isn't anyone in this thread from here, there never is. It doesn't matter what topic, message board or theme I am usually the only one!

I am 39 and closing in on 40 in about 6 weeks. That isn't bothering me one single bit. I am married and I have a 5 1.2 year old. We are Disney adicts (but of course) and I am also a crazed scrapper. I taught classes nationally until I had to take a break because of my little one.

I am misplaced from RI and have here for 12 years. Where did the time go?

Nice ta meet you all!

I'm from all parts of NC. I lived in Wilkesboro till I was 12, Around Murphy until 18, and now I'm in Greenville.

So I guess you can say I'm from the Peidmont, West, and East. A good mix in my opinion ;)

You don't happen to know a Tony and Wendy do you?
I have cousins from Alabama that have family in Greeneville and go visit them often.

Hi, my name is Marianne.

Due to my husbands job transfer we moved from Massachusetts to Indian Trail (Union County) 20 months ago and love it. My husband and I were lucky enough that when we moved our daughter, son and their families followed us. One of the best things about living in NC is that it's not that long a drive to Disney. We try to go as often as possible. We just got back from Disney on sunday with our son and his family. We have a family vacation planned for Thanksgiving with all of our kids and grandkids.

Hi

I'm LaDonna. I am 32 years old. I have a great Hubby and 2 adorable sons!! T.J. is 6 years old and Donnie is 2. I have lived here at White Lake all of my life. In case you are wondering, we are about 45 miles South of Fayetteville in Bladen County.

There is no where on Earth I had rather be...well, moving NC closer to Walt Disney World would be nice. LOL

We are Disney Freaks. We go each year and are trying to figure out how we can start going twice or more a year. :Pinkbounc Can't get enough of that place.

Nice to meet you all!!

Raleigh, here! Divorced mom of one 7 year old DD! princess: Born here (Camp Lejeune) but have lived many places. (Military kid)

OK you Concord/Kannapolis ladies......DH & I come to Charlotte (from CT) for the race each May and we're in love with Concord Mills mall. Our Charlotte friends think it's funny that we visit Concord Mills as tourists. We usually spend an entire day there!! For people who live near it, it must just be like any other mall. When we first started coming to Charlotte the only thing there was Concord Mills - and that was 6 years ago. Now, there are so many other stores, hotels & restaurants going up to the speedway.

CONCORD MILLS! I love it there!
WE also go to the races and it's actually coming up in a couple weeks!

Have fun - we can't come this year because baby is due on May 31st!! LOL DH thought maybe we could just have the baby in Charlotte :) I'll be thinking of you having a great time at the race! I'm sure the locals who are not race fans probably skip town that weekend.

Hi fellow NC DISers  I am 41yo, married with 2 kids. DW and I co-pastor a church in the big city of Trinity (near High Point and Greensboro). I have lived in NC my whole life. I was born in Kannapolis; Mom and Dad still live in Concord. I have lived in Kannapolis, Concord, Jacksonville, Durham, Mocksville, Maiden, Asheville, and now Trinity. Our kids are 9 and 6. We started going to WDW in 2000 and just fell in love with it -having been 6 times now.

I lived the first six months of my life in Virginia about 50 feet from the North Carolina line. Otherwise, I'm a life-long resident.

I live near Concord Mills and crack up when I see people walking around the mall wearing fannypacks! Unless it's gris gris and family I always see, you're not the only tourists. They actually have a parking lot for buses, you know!

I like Concord Mills fine but don't go very frequently except to the theater. My teenager goes enough for both of us!

I grew up in the North Carolina mountains in the corner next to Virginia and Tennessee. Spent 10 years in the Triangle, Chapel Hill and Raleigh, getting educated, starting a career and finding a husband. :teeth: I've lived in Concord (or Kannapolis -- had a Concord address and paid taxes to Kannapolis for the first 10 years we lived here) for almost 20 years. Add it up -- I'm old! :lmao:

Sarah I really like the pictures of the boys in the dump truck. You need to take pictures every couple of years with it :thumbsup2

Hi BVCgal

Was wondering if you own DVC at the BVC? We bought into BWV 7 years ago when our oldest son got married in Disney. That was the best wedding, Mickey and Minnie visited and danced with everyone. That's one of the things our grandaughter (14 now) talks about whenever she sees the Grand Floridian.

My husband and myself, way older than I'd like to admit. We lived in Boston most of our lives, before moving to a suburb south of Boston. Our family has one daughter, her husband, daughter, son (10) and a new baby girl due in Sept. Our oldest son, his wife, two little girls 6 & 3 years old. Our youngest son and his girlfriend still live in MA. He's hoping to put his house on the market and join the rest of us in NC.

We just moved here from MA, and we have been hearing all about race week - we are not fans and believe me, we would skip town if we could. My mom is actually also coming down that weekend - I don't know what she'll think of where we live!!
I don't know, maybe it's cause we are from MA and no one is really into racing..... we just have absolutly no interest in it.

Thanks! LOL I can imagine me trying to get them in that thing when they are like 10 years old. I think it will be even harder on me when they can't fit in it. :guilty:

I took lil'ace to preschool and the teacher showed me the caps they will be wearing for graduation and I wanted to cry. That day is going to be tough on me.
