I know I am thinking of this way in advance, but I am trying to figure out how to use the MYW dining to our best benefit while also choosing places I would like to try as a newbie. I called the dining line to ask some questions and was really bummed to find out that Le Cellier is going to be a signature choice. What doesn't make sense to me is why is Le Cellier a signature, but the Concourse Steakhouse is a table service?! When looking at sample menus these appear to be comparable to me. Although I am a newbie so I don't know if Le Cellier is more popular than Concourse. I pointed this out to the CM and he completely agreed with me. We have chosen to stay at the Coronado Springs and neither the Pepper Market or the Mayan Grill is a choice as a table or counter service. When he told me these were no longer an option, he gladly asked if I would like to switch resorts. I declined as I do like the theme and they are the only mod. with high speed internet access. It shouldn't matter as we don't plan on eating at the resort very often. In Epcot there are only a total of four choices, MGM there are also four choices, Animal Kingdom only one (which I expected), and MK there are five choices. I guess I should be happy that most of my choices were on the list, just bummed about Le Cellier.

The amount of choices you listed for each place... are you talking about table service only? Have you seen the pdf file (if not I'll try to find it for you if no one else pops up with it quickly) that lists all the choices for restaurants for counter service, table service, character meals (also table service), and signature meals? There is a whole lot more choices than just the amount you listed.

The only thing I noticed is there is only ONE place at DTD to eat with the dining plan. One PERIOD... table service at Captain Jack's- that's it. No counter service, only one table service. Guess that means everyone at DTD, PI, Disney Quest/etc. that is using the dining plan will be at Captain Jack's for their meal (assuming ofcourse they don't go to another park or resort for their meal). I expect that restaurant to be packed. LOL

Yes, I was talking about just table services. The reason being is that I am starting to work on our itinerary and they require the PS's. I was also told that Cap'N Jacks was the only table service in DTD. I know there are more at the resorts, but I am trying to plan PS for a restaurant in whatever park we're in that day. We'll use the resort restaurants on off days. The CM said he would mail me the listing.

Actually there are 13 (not 4) TS and QS places in Epcot, 15 in MK, 11 in the Studios, and 5 in AK. Not to mention the 48 other places to eat a table service or quick service meal in the various other resorts, and DTD.

That's 93 places to eat a TS or QS meal. A little more than 14. And I even left out the places that serve only breakfast.

Go here for a list.

:earseek:
Well I just popped over to post the same thing (is MYD a reasonable option for the cost) and now you have me rethinking things.

Also, I didn't realize that only Coranodo had the high-speed access. We were kinda hoping all the resorts would have Wi-Fi. Oh...I'd better not let DH read this.

AND...I'd better run back and look at that .pdf file myself. OY!

The places we wanted to eat were already on that list so it was an easy choice for us.

But that is what it all boils down to really. Are the places you want to eat at on the list?

If they are then get the option if not then dont. We are saving about a little more than $550 for the 8 days we will be there. But like I said, our places are on the list.

2ndxmommy.....CS is the only one with hi speed at the moderate level and none at the value level offer this. :badpc: I believe that all the deluxes have it, but we can't afford the deluxes. I actually sold my DH on a moderate with this piece of information so use it wisely. :rolleyes1 I am still happy with choosing the dining option. I will make sure to frequent all of the restaurants I can and use it to our advantage. There are some absolutely wonderful ones on the list......well so I have heard! I definitely plan to go to Cinderella's Castle, Liberty Tree Tavern, O'hana's, Chef Mickey's, Biergarten, etc. I was just bummed about Le Cellier not being on the list. I may try to get a lunch seating to try the wonderful cheese soup I have heard about and pay out of pocket. I like the dining because that will pretty much cover our meals and not have to worry about how much money I will be carrying around or how much is being charged to the room. I would much rather have it paid upfront this way knowing I can make it worth my while. I guess it would depend on what's important to you.
