MYW Dining w/split hotel stay

Hi,

We currently have 6 nights booked at POR in May. I am considering changing it to 3 nights at Poly, then 3 nights at POR. Would we be able to make them as different reservations, and therefore only have to buy 3 nights of dining?

We are using an e-mail rate ($79/night at POR).

One more question... if we DO need to have the entire 6 nights of dining, what will happen when we switch to POR? We planned on driving from the Poly to a park (maybe MGM?), spending the day there, and THEN going to check in at POR. With the dining plan, would we need to go to POR early (even before official check-in) in order to get a key with our dining plan on it????

TIA

My understanding is that you would only have 3 days of dining if you split your stay unless you added the MYW to both reservations.

If you are wanting the MYW for the later portion of your stay then in order to get the dining options and your room key you would need to check into the second resort that morning.

Keep in mind that your park passes will also need to be tied to your reservation in order to book the dining package.

So is splitting up ticket cost of 3 day pass and another 3 day pass still beneficial over a 6 day pass?

OH NO!!!

I was just about ready to change my ressies to drop our concierge and add dining. But now I don't know what to do. We are splitting our stay at the POP for 3 nights and the POLY Concierge for 3 nights. I have just spent hours figuring out that we would save over 500.00 to drop our concierge and add the dining package to all 6 nights. Am I right that now I can't do this??

I would have to buy 2 packages of 3 days/dining. I would lose my savings....this stinks. I don't know what to do now!!!

We also tried to do this. You have to also split your park tickets, which adds more to the total price. 4 three day, and 4 four day tickets, were more, than 4 seven day.

The other way to do it is to drop the dining for part of your stay.

Neither option was good for us, so we are back to hoping for a code before 3/7, when our final payment is due.

You could choose to do so many days at one resort with the dining package then switch resorts but do room only. That might work out for you.

Thank you all for your responses. I never even THOUGHT about the tickets needing to be split... Yuck!

Just so that I understand - to get a package (and thereby qualify for the dining plan) you MUST buy the MYW tickets for the exact length of your stay?

For example, I could NOT book Poly for three nights with dining, but buy a 6 day MYW ticket. Is that correct?

It is my understanding that you just have to purchase tickets (any increment) to get the MYW Dining package. The number of days on your ticket do not have to coincide with the number of nights at your resort. Hope this helps!

Just remember your tickets won't start until you start your package. So, you would want to do the package for the first part of your trip, and not the second. You could get 6/7 day tickets plus dining with your first 3-night stay, and then switch to the 3-night room only.

Anne2,

Yes, that is a good point. Now my only concern is - will they let me apply my e-mail code to both reservations....
