The grilled pork with pistachios and blueberries is back.
French Onion soup is back.
New item. Crabcake Sliders. Kind of like the White Castle or Krystal gut bombs or sliders, only with crab. A bit to the spicey side for me but then i like my wings mild.
Chef Mark got hold of some Kobe' Beef. It was the flank section but he made a Tereakyi Kobe Beef with wasabe mashed potatoes and some stir fry vegetables. This was so good that no matter how full you were you wanted more. I asked Chef Mark how he scored some Kobe' beef and he said that vendors were pressing hard for business and to sweeten the pot they were making some very attractive offerings so make sure you listen to all the specials or ask about them. There will probably be some short term offering specials off and on that might just make you say OMG!:cool2:

crossing my fingers it will still be there in october when i go next.....

That all sounds wonderful, would I need to make advance resavations for a trip in June or could I just make them when we get to the park. I heard the restaurant is a do not miss.

Is the non-peak menu better than the peak season???? And is the non-peak menu better??? :confused3 I'll be there in June as well and am looking forward to eat there.

Was the rosemary potato bread back? It wasn't there when we were there in February. It is one of my favourite parts of Mythos!

The non-peak menu is still very good, but it is designed to be able to get a larger quantity of food out quickly. During peak times at the parks very few people want a leisurely extended lunch, they want a good meal and then get right back out into the park to do everything the wanted to do. Since i usually have the ever changing rissoto of the day, and it is always on the menu, peak or non-peak work for me. IT is not a question of quality it is choosing those items that take less time to prepare. For those that dabble in the kitchen there are lots of really great dishes that take very little preparation time

yes the bread is back!

Still no corvina but the creation that Chef Mark made with the Kobe' beef took me right back to my very first meal at Mythos, the Corvina. It was that good. :cool2:

Yay for the bread being back. Mythos has made a few changes in the past 5 years that I wasn't happy with but that one topped the list.

I loved their old skinny french fries and I also loved when they served their caesar salad in full romaine leaves. The salad now is chopped so fine that it can be difficult to even stick a fork in it. It is still yummy but not nearly as good as it used to be.

 had the amazing french onion soup last Oct & decided it was a new must do every visit:) is it seasonal or soup of the day offering?

...do you need ressies in May/June?

Also, the park hours are until 6 or 7pm, will the restaurant be open for an evening meal or just for lunch?

Any replies appreciated!

When we were there in January they had both the pork and rosemary bread. I'm confused.

When we were there Feb. 16-20, they had no rosemary bread. The waitress said something about them not being satisfied with it and sending it all back or something to that effect. Another waitress said they were transitioning to another bread. I am relieved to hear it is back.

mythos usually closes at 3.
when the parks have extended hours, mythos has been known to stay open to 6ish in the past.

you can do ressies the day of if you want.

They seem to rotate between the French Onion, Tortilla Soup, Mushroom soup, and Lobster/Corn Bisque.

I do not think Mythos will consider 6pm closing to be extended but 7pm maybe! Keep in mind that Mythos does not decide thier hours of operation. I know the managers have pushed for longer hours and in some cases they have prevailed. It is a function of crowd numbers, historical and current. Usually they close 3 hours prior to park closing.

WHAT NEW CHEF AT MYTHOS???????:confused3

They do not make the bread at Universal. If a delivery is not up to speed they will refuse the shipment. :cool2:

Oh I know I'm going Saturday now..The French Onion soup is the best!!!Along with the Rissoto of The Day..:thumbsup2

Ok..I want to try this place on our trip in April. Now my question is do they have hamburgers, chicken or something suitable for a 10 yo? He will not try anything "fancy" :confused3
