Does anyone do Mystery Shopping? I have been looking on the internet and have found some information, but most of it you have to sign up for.
Has anyone done this? Do you work for a specific company? How does it really work?
I am just looking to make a little extra income.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :)

I did for a couple of months. I can't remember the name of the company but I know that I signed up over the internet based on info I heard on our local news. I was given assignments to mystery shop the same store 3 or 4 times. I was always given the same scenerio of questions. Needed to be acknowledged by an employee of the store and then I'd need to ask that person a direct question. Always had to go to the pharmacy window and ask advice. Always had to inquire about their 1 hour photo service. Always had to rate the check out person. I felt that the assignments were not all that interesting and besides, I was being sent to a small store where I started recognizing the employees. I felt that if I was recognizing them, they had to be recognizing me -- how many other people come in there every month and inquire about the 1 hour photo and never have any film that needs to be developed?? It really was quick work. It did pay $8.00 and covered the cost of an item I had to purchase in the store for $2.00 or less (usually a greeting card). Anyway, it wasn't for me. I had hoped that after the first assignment I would have earned my way up to something a little juicier but it didn't happen. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have done Mystery Shopping. Alot of the times you don't get a store/place to shop for a month and then you can get three in one shot. Most of the time it is a small amount you are paid. 8-16 dollars was average for me most of the time. On occasion I had them send me to a resturant and pay for the meal as pay for me. It isn't dependable work and you may have to drive to other areas to do it. When I moved to a new county literally 1 county up and about 30 miles they didn't have anything for me to shop unless I was willing to drive back to where I used to live. It is fun work but like cgcw said in the post above I would shop some of the same stores over and over. I remember one summer I must have shopped Sunglass hut and DSW shoewarehouse 6 times atleast.
