Mystery at Sea

There have been a lot of posts about the Compass. Right now if you just look at it, it is pointing North. But I think what DCL intended is for you to click and hold your mouse button on it - then you get a completely different direction! This has been the case for each of the 5 separate pages of clues.

How many out there didn't know to click and hold on the Compass?

I also agree that holding the mouse down over the compass is what they were intending. :wizard:

That's possible.....so they aren't going to PARIS, what about another port in France? ;)

I have read that VillaFrancha had posted on their port site that the Magic would be docked there for the summer This cruise will be in the Mediterranean which is way south of Paris...isn't Paris in the North of France???

Story Summary:

During the summer of 2007, Disney Cruise Line will offer guests a new adventure aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship. This brand new itinerary expands beyond the Caribbean and offers Disney Cruise Line an opportunity to reach new audiences. Many ports were considered – Alaska, the Baltic, Hawaii, South China Sea, the Mediterranean and New York – but the chosen destination will offer families a vacation of a lifetime. Disney Cruise Line president Tom McAlpin will reveal details of this significant new itinerary in true Disney fashion with pixie dust and some good Disney friends.

With this new itinerary, Disney Cruise Line continues to expand its reach and chart new waters. In 2005, the Disney Magic cruise ship sailed through the Panama Canal for the first time and spent the summer sailing the Mexican Riviera out of the Port of Los Angeles. This year, the Disney Wonder will embark on its first cruises longer than three- and four-nights with a special 10- and 11-night cruise to the southern Caribbean. Guests interested in booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation should call (888) DCL-2500, visit www.disneycruise.com or contact their travel agent.

Disney Cruise Line is expected to announce the Disney Magic cruise ship, which is based at Port Canaveral, will be taking a European vacation in summer 2007.
Disney officials would not discuss specific details until an announcement planned for Tuesday at the World Showcase Pavilion at Disney's Epcot theme park near Orlando.

This was in the Orlando Paper last week.....no more information..just that the announcement would be Tuesday at teh World Showcase Pavilion.

Where are you guys thinking on watching the announcement......are you close enough to go to Epcot?

"Watching" may not be the right word. Surfing the internet is about all I think to do and can be tough at work  :surfweb:

The press conference may only be open to those with press credentials and not open to the public, unless it is outdoors.

:hourglass :hourglass

Okay... where's the next clue? :confused3

We have 24 more hours until the "OFFICIAL" announcement is made... I was hoping for one more change to the Mystery at Sea site! ;)

From the position of the last "sighting" coordinates, it looks like the Magic's headed to the Med. I'm wondering if the next set of clues (if there are any) will show the ship closed to Europe, or further away... :rotfl:

This thread is an addiction. I have finals this week. But I am so happy that I have tommorrow off so that I can be around to check in and see where the ship will be. We really need to start a 12 step program! :teeth:

If it is outdoors (and unless it rains, my money is on it being held outdoors), the public should be able to watch from afar (like the 2005 announcement made in Disneyland in 2004). The media will get the upclose and personal locations.

If it's indoors, forget it, it won't be open to the general public.
